I stayed at Frisco national campsite for about a month this time at multiple campsites. As normal, my stay here was great! I even looked forward to the cold showers. Can't beat the price.

Large campground. A bit older and somewhat tired looking, but great access to the beach. Very nice boardwalk close to our campground in D loop over the dunes to the beach. Quiet when we were there in November, but looks it can get crowded. Clean bathrooms, cold showers.

What a perfect four days! I camped here with my son. We surf fished, took the ferry to Okracoke, went kayak fishing in the sound, played on the beach and cooked a lot at the campsite. For late August, we lucked out in terms of weather. It was cool a few evenings, and the days werent too hot. The trees on this campsite made it unique from other beach camps we have done. The wind was disrupted. I thought that the bugs might be bad, and was prepared with bug nets and permethrin but we were never really swarmed. The shower did not have hot water, but it was tolerable for this time of year. The campground was well maintained and clean. Great stay!

My girlfriend and I LOVED it there. We were cross the road from bathroom and shower, had a GREAT time there, and the distance to get to Frisco Beach was AWESOME! If you have 4 Wheels Drive, get a off beach permit and just drive from the campground to the beach. It was so much fun. Will be coming back!

Site was ready with my reservation posted clearly before my arrival. Everything was good for my one-night stay.

Love the location and the space at Frisco Campground. Hate the thorny grass and cactus. Love everything else

Nice location with beach access. Near clean restrooms. We had to look for a site that was level enough for our van, but found one with no trouble.

Overall the campground is nice and the restrooms were very clean but we were camping with our dogs and we’re unaware of all the goatheads and cactus everywhere. It should be written on the website for future bookings. We likely wound not have camped there if we had known ahead.

The paved camping area was very short ,some one had moved the lunch bench across the paved road .Could barely fit my 24 foot RV onto pad .

Was very quiet The restrooms were very clean and the restroom building was well cared for. The boardwalk to the ocean needs repairs--nails that are protruding and are a tripping hazard. The ranger at the entrance was very kind and informitive.

Frisco is the nicest of the campgrounds in the national seashore. It isn't flat like the others and gives you a more individual camping experience. You don't have to walk thru other campers site to get to bathrooms or the beach. It is always quite for a large camp ground. The only thing missing is they have no fire pits so camp fires are not allowed. Bathrooms are clean as are the showers. The beach can be a little crowed during times when the other ramps are closed due to hatching birds and turtles. But the beach is nice. I like to walk on the beach in the evening.
