The phone number on the website had a recording that they were closed for the 2022 season - it is 2024 it also said that Recreation.gov was handling the reservations. Recreation.gov said that Meeks Bay Resort was handling reservations. I went to Meeks Bay Resort on my vacation and you could not pay at the resort, it had to be done online. After finally being directed to the correct website I was able to make my reservations. My only complaint is that even with my Senior lifetime pass it still cost me about $140.00 for three nights in a tent site. I love Meeks Bay because it has its own beach a few minutes walk from the campground. Keep an eye out though, I had a couple of visits from a black bear, he wasnt threatening, I just scolded him like I would do my dog and he went to visit a neighbors campsite. He ran off when she yelled at him too. I will probably return next year even with the cost of the campsites.

The location of Meeks bay is convenient on the west side of the lake. However the Friday going into a holiday weekend they didnt bother checking ANY bathrooms for toilet paper. ALL 8 restrooms in our loop were out of Toilet paper. So that tells me no effort was made for days prior. Our campsite had pretty uneven ground with heavy equipment tracks not smoothed out. We genuinely enjoyed our time at Tahoe State Rec, in Tahoe city much more unfortunately because this place seemed to have potential.
