It was great to be able to camp at my favorite place. I am disabled and it was so helpful to have that access for me to camp. A very special time with togetherness for my family.

Our first time reserving campsite #4. We usually reserve #3 and have actually used all the campsites over the years. However, I feel #4 is by far my favorite. Kirby Cove campground is special and magical. Make sure you bring heavy duty carts, lots of water, and firewood. We have a pop-up tent for our toilet and shower. Im not fan of their bathrooms (old school port-a-potty in a shed. It doesnt cost much to purchase the items and super easy to clean. No smells. I love how secluded the campground is and you basically have the beach to yourself. Its truly one of my favorite campgrounds w/o amenities along the California Coastline. Highly recommend it.

This campground is so amazing. The individual sites are far enough away from each other to have privacy, while still keeping you close to a restroom as needed. Each site has lots of space, too! I highly recommend using the directions from the Recreation.gov app itself! Don't try to Google Maps it because it won't take you to the trail/gate entrance and you'll be very confused around a touristy area!

I would recommend telling visitors to bring their own wagon to move camping gear from the car to the campsites. Kirby Cove does not provide wheel barrels or wagons.

Was a lovely place to camp. The pit toilets were well kept. The grounds were relatively clean and free from litter.

It's always a pleasure to be welcomed to Kirby cove wonderful place to meet new people and enjoy new experiences in the wild while being close to one of the biggest cities in the world.

Great campsite. Close to everything. But you feel far away from everybody at the same time. Magical place. Well worth staying here at least once. Bucket list location that you won't soon forget.

One of my favorite campgrounds of all time

We got lucky with the weather and got a clear view of Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco until about 11 pm when the fog rolled in, after which the fog horns started blaring. That did cause a sleepless night for many. Remember to always bring ear plugs when camping at Kirby Cove.

Site#4 was spacious. Comfortable for 4 tents. Close by parking and restroom. Didnt experience any raccoon. Big fire pit. Definitely would come back again. Fog horn cant be avoided if there is fog throughout the night.

It was a beautiful campground and the site was much bigger than I expected. We really enjoyed the extra picnic tables it made things a lot easier with all the extra space. We are going to come back as soon as possible.

Location difficult to find at night. One way road into park. Not close to entrance as it appears on map. Dirt road with no guard rails going down side of mountain. Description was inaccurate. Lost $80 as could not camp here due to road condition to camp site and no refunds provided. Disappointing welcome to san fran late at night.

We had a wonderful evening, we enjoyed it very much. Everyone was quiet, no loud music or voices, no barking dogs. Very peaceful place. Amazing views, and private beach. I cant wait to go back.

This was our first stay at Kirby Cove after wanting to visit for many years. It was worth the wait. It's a beautiful spot on the bay and a unique camping experience. The weather could not have been better during our visit so we were lucky in that regard. Views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the city beyond are magnificent. We stayed in site #4 which was fine for us; I think that one or site #1 are the ones to pick if you can, but any will do. It's not easy to get a reservation but it's definitely worth the effort. It's also a good idea to take the time to explore the Marin headlines beyond the cove because the whole area is beautiful.

What a beautiful camping spot! We reserved this for my daughter and her class to have their end of the year camping trip there.

Well we needed a good hike-guess we had to earn our entry. We arrived a little late & did not know if we were in the right place, but apparently that WAS the gate where we were supposed to enter the code. Would have been nice if there were a sign or better explanation to enter the code. But we hiked all the way down the road & a park ranger was kind enough to give us a ride out the next day. “Most people drive in.” Um, yeah. We’re not most people. But now we know. Hope to return again sometime.
