Such a beautiful spot to canoe camp! We parked at millers landing and canoed across the bay to a beautiful beach with a view of Hog and Duck Islands. We saw lots of great blue herons, egrets & seals and an otter and a coyote. There are Elk nearby too. Easy access to oyster bars by boat if the wind is cooperating. Highly recommend

Outstanding! We used the water access sights on Tomalas Bay. Accessed the sites via Kayak. The location was outstanding. Amazing views, great hikes and well-maintained campsites. Lots of fun for a different kind of camping. I saw people accessing the sites via powerboat as well. Pay attention to the weather forecast. Wind comes up on the bay making kayaking difficult and possibly dangerous if you leave at the right time. We had wonderful weather and little wind, because we timed it correctly, so do your research.

Camped at Marshall beach, great view, not crowded. Bathroom facilities were just a short walk away from our campsite. The background hills blocked some of the winds and we were able to walk up a service road approximately a mile and get great views of the ocean on the other side of the bay.

Absolutely beautiful. We stayed 2 nights at the wall beach. We came on paddle boards and had to battle the wind and tide at times. Early mornings and evenings are def better to get across.

Kayaked there. Bathrooms were very clean at Tomales Beach. The bioluminescence was amazing at night. If you're launching your own kayak- Miller boat launch is the parking and launch point. It takes 30 minutes to an hour to get to Tomales Beach. Marshall is about another 20-40 minutes depending on your speed and the conditions (remember to check winds). And you need a permit.

Hiked to Glenn camp through Bear Valley trailhead. Once we got to the campground and set-up our things, we then hiked to the beach through wild cat trail. Next day we hiked back, then kayaked to Tomales beach for another night of camping. Remember to bring enough water and sunscreen!

Kayak camped at Tomales Beach. The toilets were well stocked and clean. Quite a lot of other campers were there but everyone was able to spread out well enough with their own groups. We kayaked around to look at the bioluminescence at night and it was pretty decent if you get away from the lights from campers and especially if you find the seaweed patches which concentrate the bioluminescent organisms. Got rained on overnight and in the morning but not too badly. We also saw a solar eclipse at times in the morning when the clouds broke for a bit. Overall a great experience. Ocean and wind conditions were favorable the entire time, but somewhat choppier on the way back to our launch point due to the rainstorm.

The bioluminescence was absolutely incredible, the beach-camping was ok - though that's partially a result of arriving well past sunset and choosing a beach somewhat at random. I did get a little poison oak, the trails going inland are thick with it, but overall an amazing experience.

Best to carefully pack all food items carefully away in a secure place(not in a tent) so that raccoons will not have any reason to hang around or rummage through your things. We lucked out on the weather and Blue Waters gave us important tips for enjoying our kayak camping trip! There is a lot to see, so beautiful on Tomales Bay.

Rented kayaks at Laine's bait shop in San Jose (cheaper) and launched at Miller beach public boat launch. Kayaked across for 45 minutes, around noon. Not too windy. Set up camp at Wall point beach. Great campsite and private beach. Had a great view of the bird rookeries. No hiking trails were accessible though, from this site. Brought firewood for a beach fire. Great experience, would return, but camp a few beaches further north, which would give us a hike to Mclure beach trail oceanside.

Boat camping at Point Reyes never disappoints. We stayed at wall beach this year. It is one of the sandier beaches, as a opposed to mud, when the tide is out. Watch the tides though, high tide (5’6”) at night left almost no beach.

Took an enclosed double kayak with my wife on a three day two night adventure. She had never been there before and it was awesome to see it through her eyes. We had Marshal beach almost entirely to ourselves. We even got to see the bioluminescence of the water… AMAZING!!! I would highly recommend to anyone looking for an adventure.

Had a great time camping in Tomales. The only drawback was the need to get a fire permit at bear valley visitor center in person. It would be great if the fire permit could be gotten at the same time as the campsite reservation online. I understand there are spare the air days and days of higher fire danger where fire permits would be restricted. But there must be a way to combine the two.

It was incredible to be able to sleep on a beach site! Difficult to find in the dark but lots of options to choose from. A bit cold but not too windy and easy to shore up the kayaks on Pita Beach. Will definitely be doing again!

Point Reyes national seashore boat in campsites or nothing less than amazing. 100% rustic if you are with a small group since theres no toilets or running water but the connection nature is absolute.

One-of-a-kind adventure to an isolated beach. The two beaches with public toilet holes are actually pretty nice, and wider than all the rest. Beaches are a little hard to identify as you boat past, but you'll definitely see signs on beaches where no camping is allowed. However, I did not see any signs on Sacramento nor Pelican Point, both of which are closed for camping. Note, there is no hiking or other activities once you land on the beach, so plan accordingly - the beaches are framed by steep hills. Bring a book, I was told by a ranger. We accidentally left late in the day (not recommended, as waters truly get choppy, especially if not going North from Inverness area, but crossing from, say, Miller's Landing). But we got lucky because 1) weather was perfect with calm water, and 2) some of the beaches are taken up by day-use groups who leave in the afternoon, so we ended up arriving to our own private beach just as a huge group was leaving around 3:45pm. Bigger boats make for larger waves, even during good weather, which can be quite nerve-wracking in a canoe that has all your gear.We stayed on White Gulch Beach. Note - the tides make for a very dramatic difference in water levels on this beach - perhaps 40 feet. We were intending to look at bioluminescence at night, but were thwarted by the mud that surrounded our beach during low tide. It might be a good idea to bring water shoes, or something. Also, we saw tours of people looking for bioluminescence and they had red LEDs instead of flashlights/headlamps. I'm guessing this was for the benefit of the wildlife, so probably a good idea to bring if one plans on doing that. Overheard tourguide say that bioluminescence is visible about 2 weeks out of every month.Weather can be variable, but Aug 1st we had warm temperatures (60s) and beautiful fog, on and off.
