I started from Sky camp trail head and hiked West toward Coast Camp site 6, very nice wooded trail, loved the beach and sunset at Coast camp, next day I hiked South East on the Woodward trail, lots of downed trees over the trail from the burn a few years ago, camped at Sky Camp site 10 , windy all night but great view, next day I hiked out to the Sky Camp trail head 1.8 miles , had a blast for mid winter backpacking

This form doesn't show which campground at Point Reyes I'm reviewing, oddly - I stayed at all four on my recent trip. Great experience, as always. All campgrounds great. On my third night I was at Glen. Pretty and woodsy, no far views, least popular because furthest from the beaches or views, but nice little campground.Glen: Avoid site 10, it is in the middle of all the other sites, with zero feeling of privacy. All the sites are within view of at least some other sites, but the rest are more on the edge or up the little path, so they feel less exposed. Direct sun is very late to hit in the morning, depends on time of year but was close to 10 am before the first site (#12) got any sun. Great if it's hot, chilly if it's not.Heads up: there are no 'native' rocks in Glen campground to pound your tent stakes in with (unless some have been brought in since this review). The dirt there is deep loam, with no rocks lying around, and none in the immediate trails leading in, either. I carried a rock in three months ago to site 2. Scouting around this time I found it up in site 8, but none of the other sites had any rocks. This one I had found originally in one small section of the Glen loop trail (the narrow footpath) with only a few rocks in it on the way in, and this time I saw no available rocks there big enough. Later, when hiking out the OTHER part of the loop - the service road toward Stewart Trail - I saw only one lone rock that had worked its way out of the road, until about an eighth of a mile, near the top of that steep rise, just before the first "water valve" sign - the roadcut on the opposite side exposes several good size rocks. If you are coming into camp that way, grab yourself a rock there! (not the water valve sign near the turnoff for Greenpicker Trail, that's still a good half mile or more away from Glen).

Great spot. I would say if you are bringing someone out for their first experience this would be a good start.

We took the long way in, over the mountain, because we're training. Beautiful hike! Easy to navigate, and a good workout. Sites on the 1-7 side are very private. Lots of birds, rabbits, deer, and even elk from a distance. On our down day took an 8-mile out and back to Kelham Beach. Several groups came in from Limantour - the 2 mile route. Many of them had little kids so it was cool to see young families enjoying the backpacking experience. Bathrooms were clean and water accessible. We took the Woodward valley trail back to Bear valley VS. Also a nice trail. Very lush and shady.

Such a magical place!! We biked in and camped out for 2 nights. Easy 2.8 mile ride going back was a little harder because of the uphill. But will definitely be going back soon!

Beautiful area. Bathroom was very clean and well stocked, regardless of a very large group camping there at the same time. Trails well maintained. Camp site very clean. Even had a large rock there for tent stake pounding. Thank you for keeping this area in such great shape!!

This was my first time staying at this campground, I usually use wildcat. This place is amazing the sites are well secluded and access to the beach is easy. Tons of wildlife. Site 6 is pretty far from the bathroom but that didn't bother us.

We love this area every time we visit. We met a Ranger this time on our 3 day backpack. She was very kind and knowledgeable.

Campsites were separated and it felt secluded even though there were other campers. The beach was a short walk away and it was nice to walk down there for the sunset.Overall a good campground and would definitely return.

Quiet, convenient and easy to get to. Six stars if you add the senior discount, making it 1/2 price.

The weather turned out better than expected. The fog rolled in during the late evening hours but, cleared off around 2 am to view the stars and the Milky Way. Perfect.

The campsite was good. But finding the trail inward when hiking along the coast is a bit tricky especially after dark. There was no internet but luckily the GPS on the phone helped roughly locate where to turn.

It was a fantastic experience. The camp site was clean. Since it was close to the beach we ended up spending the evening at the beach around a fire. Dont forget to take some firewood, unless you want to be adventurous and look for firewood in the brush.

What a great place! Campsite was big enough for our four person tent and we could even see the ocean. Easy beach access. Make sure to get your beach fire permit at the visitor center beforehand as you may be able to collect enough driftwood for a beach fire at Santa Maria Beach.
