Always a beautiful stay.

Excellent campsite! It has the perfect amount of amenities to be comfortable while still feeling remote. Campsites are nicely spaced and we woke up to wild elk in camp! Bear valley to wild cat was a good climb/decent but friends hiked in from Palomarin and it was easy enough for young kids to do.

The site is very secluded and yet well-kept. Solid vault toilet, water, storage lockers and tables. The elk kept us awake but their calls are ethereal. The short cliff overlooking the beach and the beach itself were beautiful. Hard to believe you are <2 hours from SF, let's keep it on the DL (:

Be sure to check the high tide times so that your mile walk down to the waterfall is as 'dry' as possible. :_)If rain is in the forecast Wildcat Camp it is a good idea to have rain tarps, but more importantly practice setting up a tarp without any trees.

It does not get better than this. WOW.

Best campsite for a group as it is a little further from other sites. I felt it can fit up to 14 single person tents. New food lockers and concrete picnic tables have been installed. Had a wonderful experience, looking forward to coming back again.

Wildcat is just a next level backpacking experience. The potable water fountain and bathrooms are, of course, nice amenities, but the views, the wildlife and the sunset over the ocean are top tier. The only problem with this campground is trying to actually get a spot. They don't make it easy, plus it's wildly desirable, making it 5x more difficult to get a spot, let alone on a day or spread of days you'd want. But if you do get a booking, it doesn't disappoint.

Wonderful site, all in our group besides my best friend and I canceled so we had site 3 to ourselves! 5 minute walk to the beach and a mile and a half or so walk on the beach to Alamere falls. Potable water, pit toilets (you do every now and then get a wiff in your camp site), trash cans, and food lockers that we had no problem with rodents in. (We did not bring bear can or bag). There is no shade in Wildcat Campground, so be prepared for sun, we luckily had the group site so we flipped up one of the two tables for shade. Windy in the later half of the afternoon/early evening, and fog rolled in shortly after dark which soaks everything including our single walled 2 season tent. (Be prepared with a solid rainfly or 4 season tent). Noise carries in this campsite as the sites are close and there is only small low brush please remember to be quiet after dark for your neighbors! Animal life in camp from what we experienced consists of quail, fox, skunk, and deer!

Coast Camp was great experience! It had brand new cement tables and new metal food boxes. As for Wildcat camp, its tables and food boxes need to be upgraded like Coast camp. Both vaulted toilets were very clean with lots of TP in each room. Wild life at Wildcat Camp was like watching a National Geographic documentary. Bobcat, Quails, Gray Fox, Tule Elk, raptors, Sea Lions and field mice. What a wonderful experience!

Beautiful hike up the greenpicker trail to stewart trail. Saw a wildcat and some elk at camp. Beach was beautiful. The nature sounds were calming. the place is trashy so I did my park to collect as much trash as I could. I suggest others to do the same. Leave no trace! This is a fragile environment.

Wildcat is great - easy beach access,, sites are pretty well separated (especially when the mustard grows). Food bins in #3 need to be replaced. One was lying on the ground and with larger groups not all the food fits in them. Need to have a larger bin like in Site 2.

walk along the beach at low tide to alamere falls during winter/spring, when water flow is still strong! you might see elk at the campsite as well

Magical place! We came in from Five Brooks which has more elevation changes than Palomarin, but easy wide trail.

I have been many times to Point Reyes despite living thousands of miles away in Alaska. I am astonished how easy it is to find a last minute camp site. The camps are clean, maintained with recycling, trash, toilets, secure food bins which likely goes a long way to keeping it as such. I hope it will remains relatively undiscovered so I can continue to have ready access to the marvelous natural treasure.

Beautiful overnight backpack trip at Wildcat Camp. The group site was perfect for our 11 person group. We obtained a beach fire permit. Our beach campfire was the perfect addition to our breathtaking sunset. The weather was sensational as we were lulled to sleep by crashing waves. Highly recommend.

Please cancel your reservations if you cannot go, even if it is last minute! Trips like these are hard to reserve. Recreation.gov is great and provides refunds for cancellations.

Wildcat is a beautiful campsite, and it's an easy backpacking trip with access to water & restrooms at the camp. Note that Alamere falls will likely be crowded on weekends!
