Great location. You can hear and see the ocean from this site!

Amazing as always! Love that its a short enough distance that our 4 year olds can easily hike there themselves. Definitely recommend getting a fire permit from the visitor center so you can have a fire on the breach!

Tide pooling at the beach was a wonderful experience

Mid week was uncrowded. Second day from Coast Camp to Glen Camp was a long 16 mile day and Wildcat Camp would be a shorter day. Some fog but generally good weather.

I love Coast Camp!! Easy hike in with access to the beach. Appreciated being in the campsites up the hill that were surrounded by brush they provided a windbreak.

Had a good time, manageable hiking distances between campsites and beautiful scenery. I highly recommend a trip here. Make sure to bring sun block not much shade in the Coast Campground.

#3 can fit 2 two person tents. You can see ocean from the picnic table - the sunset was beautiful! The locker is new. The bathroom is on the other side of the campground, but I like sites 1-7 with more seclusion. Short walk to the beach. There are total 14 sites. 2,3,5,7 and 11 sites are released 14 days ahead; 9 is released on the same day; others sites are released 3 months ahead. I love this campground. Its only 3-4 miles hike with minimal elevation from Laguna trailhead and 6.5 miles hike with 1100ft gain. Beautiful hike to the campground and there are lots to explore near by. The walk along the beach to sculpture beach when low tide is must, but check the tide schedule with the ranger before you explore.

Bear Valley to Coast Camp over the ridge is a doable overnighter. Loved our stay and the beauty of the campsite.

I thoroughly enjoyed my hike and campsites. The perfect weather was a huge plus. The trail is well maintained and the campsites are reasonably private.

Site was clean and had nice views of ocean. One large tent pad, could fit 2 small 2 person tents on. The other flat area had a half buried grill sticking out of the ground. Second time staying in this area, being up in the cove is much nicer and well worth the walk to water faucets and bathrooms

Nice sites, everyone is either hard pack rocky dirt or grass so bring a pad. Nicely sheltered from the wind

The site is well maintained. Sites 1-7 are separate from the side with amenities, but I didn't mind the short walk to the facilities. Sites 1-7 are on a hillside, so each one has a terraced view of the ocean without having to look at your neighbors. Some parts of the trail and even low lying spots by the toilets are still muddy and waterlogged, so watch your step!

Our camping trip was cut short because of the tsunami advisory. The park staff handled it really well. Thanks to Ranger Bonnie who got us to high ground. Coast Camp is beautiful and we will try again.

Amazing plush back country experience with a picnic table, drinkable water on tap, a toilet and toilet paper, and a trash can!! Also gorgeous views!!

Well-maintained, quiet, great views! Loved! only wish it was easier to get a camping spot.

The campground was really lit (as always) such a magical place to step away from the business of life 4 a short while - and all within a pebbles toss of San Francisco, Marin county, and the greater Bay Area. Can’t recommend enough. Fun4 all

I really enjoyed coast camp. There are several ways to access the backpacker’ camp. A positive feature is that it is close to the Pacific ocean and the beach. It is also fairly close to the trail head. This makes it a nice short beginners backpacking trip. A negative is that there is dew in the morning. You have to be mindful that you will get some significant moisture on your tent or sleeping bag etc.

All my trips to PR have been great experiences, coast camp is now by far my favorite campground. Backpacking in is fairy easy so we were able to bring a lot with us. Eating good and had cold drinks with an ocean view, can’t beat it.
