Having hiked in from the Five Brooks trailhead, I recommend not taking the Greenpicker or Ridge trail as there are sections of mud and largely overgrown parts. On the Greenpicker trail, there is a section of downed trees. Is it not officially marked or updated, but there is a short detour to the right of the downed trees. If you are going to take either of these trails, I would highly advise wearing long-sleeved shirts and pants and checking yourself for ticks occasionally. These trails can get narrow and stinging nettle and poison oak bulge into your path from time to time. Avoid these trails after a day/night of rain. If any Point Reyes personnel reads this, please use the money and send people to cut some invasive plants on these trails.Site #2 is very close to the restroom and potable water. This site has some privacy but people using the restroom will be able to see your campsite. However, this site is well-shaded unlike #10 which is in the middle of the campground and everyone can see you. Had no issues pitching my tent as the ground was soft. Bear lockers were functional.

I loved camping here. It rained the first night and the entire next day, forcing us to hike out 10 miles, 2 of which were in the dark. I had a joyous time and would recommend camping here to anyone. So pretty (if you can handle the rain or go when theres better weather lol).

I loved this trail and campground. Very doable hike with well maintained trails. Horse poop was present but very avoidable on the trail! Over two days we saw 121 banana slugs! Campground was gorgeous and well maintained--camp bathrooms were a little smellier than other bathrooms on the trailhead. I would 100% recommend this trip to anyone who is thinking about it and recommend campsite 2 as well.

Hike to Glen Canyon Campground was delightful and well kept. We took Greenpicker Trail from the Five Brookes Trailhead and didn't see a single other person for most of the hike. Glen Campground was practically glamping. There was trash service, toilets, and potable water! Site 02 is right next to the toilets however, which is good for some, bad for others.

Glen campgrounds sites are fairly close to others. Bring earplugs and hope that others modulate their voices. The sites generally have room for two tents.

Glen camp is so charming. Possibly due to the distance from the Bear valley visitor center, all campers were adults so it was very quiet. Our site #2 was under the big tree and whole area was very level ground, so it was very easy to pitch our tent. Its not the secluded ones like 5,6,7, but still had very private feeling. The bear box is new and no cracks or holes, so we brought tapper wares for mice but we didnt need them. Once in a while I smelled the toilet a little but very few times. The actual toilet was very clean and no smell inside. Its a beautiful hike from the visitor center and next morning hiking to the beach and on the coastal trail was easy and so breathtaking. I will definitely return to this campsite.

Stunningly gorgeous every single step of the way. Explosions of wildflowers were icing on the cake. We stated at Palomarin, went to Glen one night, Coast another, back to Glen, and departed where we came in. Even though we were backpacking in a freeze-spell, everything about this place has convinced me its a local Shangri-La. Absolutely cannot wait to return and explore further.

Great Scouts BSA trip from the Bear Valley Visitor Center to the Palomarin trailhead over the course of 3 days/2 nights with a side trip to Alamere Falls from Wildcat Camp. That makes it about 15 miles and a qualifying trip for the backpacking merit badge for scouting. The group came across a bobcat on the trail and elephant seal along the beach. This is one of the troop's favorite backpacking destinations. Make reservations early if you're going over a weekend.

Great trip. Trails coming out of the visitor center are quite well maintained (are wider than a single lane). The individual trailheads along the bear creek trail lead to more natural trails. Campsites were super clean. Although some were exposed out in the open, they were beautiful nonetheless. Great first backpacking trip.

This was one of the best trips of my life. Such a great New Years. Allamere Falls is incredible. The Glen Campground and the walks around this area were also stunning.

Point Reyes is BEAUTIFUL, but beware of Glen Campsite #2 - it's downwind of the vault toilets, so it can be a stinky place to be. Really great to have a bathroom (and trash cans) in the backcountry though!

Beautiful site. I did a 12 mile hike to Glenn. It was interesting seeing what is growing back after the fire. Glenn #2 has some fantastic trees growing over the site. It was very nice to sit and relax after a long day of hiking.

Glen #2 was a good site. Flat and lots of tree coverage, close to the outhouse and potable water faucet. Moderate 5 mile hike from the Bear valley headquarters

First time hiking in to camp at Glen. Well marked and maintained trail to get there. Did a day hike down to Wildcat camp, the beach, waterfall and back the next day. About an hour hike each way, steep down hill and back up on a wide trail. Beautiful area, highly recommend!

I always enjoy Point Reyes and camping at the backcountry sites. However, this trip was the second time in a row that people had set up in our reserved campsite. This time the individuals did not even have a permit to be camping. The previous time, people set up in our camp because, they thought "this site is better than the one we booked." To have this happen in two straight trips is aggravating especially given that the sites need to be booked months in advance. In both cases the people moved but it is a situation that I do not want to deal with when recreating in the park. It seems like common sense but I do wish park staff would reiterate to campers that they need to only camp in their reserved site. Some people obviously need a reminder.
