I camped at Sky Campground for one night in May. Booking a reservation for a Saturday night required logging into this website before 7 AM on the day the sites would become available and clicking the button to reserve at 7 AM exactly. 1 second late, and I would not have gotten the booking.There was adequate parking at the Sky Trailhead. No one bothered my car. The 1.4 mile hike to the campground was easy and easy to follow. The trail is an access road. There were no insects and no thieving critters. There was water available at the campground. The pit toilets weren't too bad and had plenty of paper. No campers were noisy overnight. The best sites are 5, 6, and 12. The worst sites are 3 and 4. Site 2 is for groups. Near Site 1 there is parking for 3 horses.

Mid August, I started at Bear Valley Trailhead and hiked up Horse Trail to Sky. I spent one night at Sky Camp. All the sites there are excellent. Then I hiked via Sky Trail to Baldy. Went down Baldy to Bear Valley Trail and hiked up Glen to Glen Camp. I spent one night there at site # 2. Not the best site because if the wind is right, one gets odors from the rest rooms. Best sites are on the hillside. Have fun! One aside: Coast is the better campsite, than Wildcat if you are looking for a coastal campsite.

So I accidentally came a day late with my partner. But we were rewarded with an open campsite, stunning views and agreeable weather. The trail to the campsite is fairly easy and there is plenty of space between sites. We loved it very much!

Excellent spot for a hike/bike in camping. Knocked one star for the hard to find (in the dark) water source. If you choose to stay here, hope you like wind! They don't call it "Sky Camp" for nothing.

It was just me and my boyfriend staying in site #12 at Sky Camp. It was one of the only sites with trees for shade and protection from the wind, which was really just a gentle breeze during our stay on the Sept 11th weekend. We had a gorgeous, clear view of the ocean behind tree-covered hillsides and the site itself was surrounded by lush vegetation and felt very private. The vault toilets were handy, but rather stinky and could be smelled from sites 1 and 2. Hiking in was a little more uphill than we expected, but it was a nice warmup for our longer excursion down Fire Trail. The people we met were friendly and everyone kept the camp nice and quiet. Well definitely be going back in the future!

We were really happy going back to Sky Camp - we weren't sure what to expect after the fire but it was in really great shape!

Hiked out to find that all trails leading to my camp had been closed. No notification to anyone with reservation to the camp was made. Wouldnt have been hard to email everyone with a reservation for that night that the camp was inaccessible. A disappointing trip and even more disappointing customer service. Will find out soon if I will even be refunded.
