This was fall camping at Point Reyes National Seashore, and the slower season made the whole experience wonderfully peaceful. The ocean air, long quiet stretches of shoreline, and time spent unplugged felt genuinely restorative. The campsites themselves were spacious and well spread out, although that wasn't a factor for me as there were only a few other overnighters. My only disappointment was the condition of some of the trails, badly eroded in places, which seems like a clear result of ongoing underfunding of the National Parks system in our current political climate. Even so, the beauty and calm of Point Reyes made the trip more than worthwhile.

Everything was really well kept and easy to navigate. I loved this campsite! It was pretty muddy in late Feb, but otherwise great! Lots of deer came to visit us at night and we fell asleep to the sounds of frogs ribbiting.

Camp 12 and surroundings were flooded on Feb 18. Very small dry area to set-up the tent, the rest of the campsite is full of water and my feet kept getting wet getting from the path to the tent. This campground has 2 water faucets, one of them near the bathroom is flooded.

We cycled along the Coast Trail from Laguna Trailhead to the Coast Campground in January. The trip is lovely, easy and flat, and we saw a little group of Tule Elk along the trail. The Coast Campground is in a wonderful location, and the campsites are generously sized and fairly flat. Our only complaint was that the drainage at the spigot was poor, and so it had kind of a swamp around it.

This was our very first backpacking/hike-to camping trip and it was delightful! We saw many different animals and a deer even walked through our campsite. The sites were large and spaced out very nicely. The bathrooms weren't too bad and the picnic tables, bear boxes and potable water were all extremely nice to have available. We will definitely be back!

Wildcat, Coast and Sky camps in that order were great. Trails were well marked. High chaparral in sunny areas but trail always visible. A gang of Elk stood guard all night at Wildcat. Riders and backpackers all very friendly. Vault toilets clean and supplied. Designated camp sites were clean and well marked. Trails, terrain and views were fantastic. Got something different on each hike- overall a great backpacking loop.

Fam friendly/Newb friendly 2mile hike into the Coast campsite on the Laguna trail. Easy to find parking lot. (No bathrooms at the trail head btw) Clean campsite with nice bear locker, large cement table, plenty of space between campsites, and easy access to water spout, and well-maintained toilets. The beach was a quick easy walk to get to! Not much else to do except chill but cool for newb backpackers!

Easy weekday backpacking trip. Sites were big enough for a tent and a bivy. Parts of the coastal trail between Coast Camp and Bear Valley trail were a little overgrown. Wear long pants or your legs will suffer. Bring tick protection.

Overall the site was great, close to the beach and not that far from lavatories, good water quality at the single faucet. Be prepared for some wind. We biked in about 3 miles and the trail was fine. Great view of sky and ocean at this site.

We stayed at Coast Campground on June 11, it's a very hot day in the South Bay area, but it's much cooler in the Point Reyes especially when we arrived Coast Campground. The campground is well kept and it's very clean. This campground is only a few minutes away from the ocean but it's shelded from the ocean wind and noise because all campsites have a small hill laying between the campsites and Ocean. We enjoyed our campsite which is about 2 miles away from the parking lot through a Beach walk. After we hiked to the campground and set up our tents we went for a hike to the Alamere Falls and came back just before Sun. Can't wait to get back with another trip.

It is an absolutely gorgeous area to camp and hike into, They had outhouses, containers for trash, and some recyclables, so packing things out is optional. I would advise bringing a really good tent that has been tried and tested in extreme humidity because condensation is absolutely killer here. I had to eventually pack out and go to my car to sleep because my tent wouldn't stay dry on the inside!

Amazing campground with views of the ocean, potable water, critter containers, and good flat ground. Would highly recommend to anyone. Obviously, obtaining a reservation on a weekend is near-impossible, but the trails were basically deserted during the week.

What a privilege to spend a night at Coast Camp. I have hiked and biked there many times but finally got to stay there - watching the sunset and the stars.
Water and toilets were convenient. Other campers were considerate. One question/complaint: three campsites seemed to be unoccupied even though the campground registered as full on the website. It had taken me weeks to get a reservation. What’s going on? Are people making reservation and not bothering to cancel when they decide not to come? Annoying…

If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
