Site #31 was used as a path to the restrooms by other campers

No camphost onsite. Did not feel safe with non-campers constantly driving around and stopping at occupied campsites multiple times.

I think the best time of the year is October, and November, and most of the cooler months. I would think that unless you like to spend most of your time in the water the simmer months would be too hot.

It was crowded being the off season. A camper's two dogs and cat were off lease and roaming in occupied campsites, ie, their loose pets set off my alarms all day and night. The big dog continually frieghten me. Rangers got involved, but once the ranger left, dogs were released again to roam. And another camper flew a drone over my campsite and a friend's camp area. Rangers got involved.

Camped when there was a cold front in Sept. Site #31 driveway has a slight lean toward #33. You may or may not need leveling blocks. It was fine for my Class B. Site #31 has some morning shade until 8AM in the fall. Otherwise, the site will get hot in the summer.

The camp sites could be a bit bigger at least for the pad the trailer is setting on. It is too narrow, and it isn't level from right to left. A few more trees would be nice for in the summer months when it most likely gets pretty hot. Having the power and water hookups is a good deal, and the rest rooms with showers are a great touch, we used them. I did like the BBQ being raised up to a more usable height rather than being right on the ground as in most National Forest camp grounds.A few floating fishing piers would be nice for people that don't have boats, or a boat rental.

Although the campsites have large enough, the usable area is small. The pad just fit my trailer. Then steep drop off. No host available, so the ranger had to do checkin. Ranger was friendly.

A large number of the sites are unsuitable for travel trailers - they are narrow width and with a significant grade that can make it difficult to level a trailer. Campground roads are narrow and twisty which would be problematic for long trailers (over 24 ft length) - they are navigable if you pay careful attention when you are driving them. I found on one loop (?A) only one water spigot. The good points are: fantastic views of the lake, clean bathrooms with hot showers (free-thanks Corps of Engineers), trash cans are readily accessible, and park rangers are friendly and helpful.Watch your drive through the gates to the campground - clearance for vehicle and trailer is just adequate.

Mobile Data Speed Map
#123
If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
