Our stay was at site #45. Which is directly adjacent to #46. Basically both splitting a long driveway. Of the number of COE campgrounds weve stayed at, Hidden View has to be at the bottom. The campground and its sites require a great deal of attention and upgrading. Site #45 smelled like an old stale urinal. Needing a good power washing and sanitizing. Seems funny the differences between this CG and Codorniz CG, which is close by and COE managed. Regardless, our stay was extremely quite. With only a few other campers in the area. Staff were very friendly and professional.

We came here over New Years Holiday weekend with our dog. Our purpose was to get away from the gunshots. booms and illegal fireworks in the Fresno/Clovis metro area. I talked with other campers who were doing the same thing with their dogs. It was completely dead quiet. Not a sound. We come here often. it is always very very good. Clean restrooms and pleasant courteous staff.

From North Fresno, it is under 40 miles and under an hour to the campsites. Even though the lake level is low (up some from the Dec 21 rains in the Central Valley), this is a very good get away location. From basic tent campsites to RV level electricity/water hookups, with small to large size, there is a good variety to pick from for a few days stay. Over the air TV and cell phone service are acceptable. On this visit, the snow in the Sierras above Oakhurst was a great view from the eastside of the campground. The restrooms are always clean on every visit. All of the staff members are helpful, polite and friendly. Calif State Parks in the popular Coastal spots are now charging $10 to dump your tanks, here it is still free. Yay. There is a nice day use area (Buck Ridge) on the eastside of the lake with plenty of tables and restrooms.

Great spot, don't want to be here when it's hot and the algae is in bloom but in nice weather this spot is heaven! The fishing is hit or miss. It's either a fantastic day or nothing at all.

I loved camping here, it's quiet and peaceful. Ranges check often and they had firewood available.
