We had reservations starting on Christmas Eve (12/24/24) for 6 nights. We drove several hours, and upon arrival at about 3:30 p.m., the gate to the campground was locked. There were no rangers or any postings explaining why the gate was locked. After calling the phone number that was posted several times, no one answered. We chose this location because it is close to Sequoia. We called recreation.gov, and they had no answers either. So, we drove another two hours to another campground and arrived after dark. On Thursday, December 26, we received a phone call from Isaac apologizing. He said someone forgot to unlock the gate. This unacceptable lack of responsibility cost us a lot of extra time and money.

Great place to camp as a first timer. Definitely recommend booking the spots right on the lake for a better view. The spot I got was not so much leveled but did not have any inconvenience in parking my pop up trailer. Did not use the restrooms so cant comment on it. The only thing I kind of noticed was odd is that we saw a couple of campers moving from their spots as soon as other families arrived. We never got checked in by no one, did not have to show our reservations receipts so I assumed these people didnt make any and were just using the spots that were available, and then had to move once the ones who paid for the spot arrived.Other than that, we liked the campground. Easy to get there as well.

Absolutely beautiful park on a gorgeous lake. Small park, better suited for smaller rv's. Quit, and serene.

Maybe it is because we went in March but there was not many other campers. Quiet and peaceful spot

Beautiful location! This campground has some of the best views of any weve stayed in. Site 34 is huge with a panoramic view of the area. The website says it can fit a rig up to 80 feet, but anything longer than 30 feet may be difficult to maneuver in the upper loop. If you cant make it back with your large rig though, they do have a parking lot overflow that is easy to get into. Our Airstream is 25 feet and backing all the way into sight 34 put us at a 3% grade. It is level able, but you will definitely need chocks and leveling blocks. Bathrooms have flush toilets and showers were pretty gross by campground standards. The place was very peaceful during the week, but got noisy on the weekend and sounded like a club at times. People kind of trashed the bathrooms and my husband found a needle in the bathroom. We would definitely return for the views, but not the poorly designed campground.

Friendly staff. The 30amp plug had been overloaded by maybe a 50amp rv?. It smoked my 30amp plug (circuit breakers on sites panel and my rv did not trip. Some dump customers are leaving a mess ie. gloves old hoses etc. maybe dump needs a garbage can? But otherwise we love Island Park.

If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
