Great campsite, welcoming staff. The site was clean apon arrival, and same could be said for the state of the bathroom. I enjoyedmy stay here and if I wanted to stay in this area again, Id definitely go with this campsite. Gas station and other stores are a short distance away, convenient for last minute essentials.Only negative side is the lack of signalI had 0 services and nor did my friends with other services.

Nice location and views, after some clean-up. Unfortunately the campers prior to me left a mess (USB cords, beer bottle caps, cigarette butts, plastic bottles and caps, etc.). I spent the first hour picking up their mess so that I could enjoy the rest of my time without the sight of what they left behind. My father taught me to leave it as good or better than you found it. I did. Greeting Ranger was friendly and provided helpful information about this particular campground. Would have rated higher if I didn't have to do the clean-up of others.

The double sites we reserved were perfect for our large family and very affordable . We had a trail leading down to the water and we could keep the kids in our sight as they swam. The site was close to the bathroom and the water for personal use! Great location for camping-

My experience at the lake was excellent. I noticed the park and the lake was more clean No trash in the lake wich I love it. I think was perfect to have the park closed by memorial day weekend, because I noticed everything was cleaner. We should be more concerned to keep the lake and the campsite without trash.

We had reservations starting on Christmas Eve (12/24/24) for 6 nights. We drove several hours, and upon arrival at about 3:30 p.m., the gate to the campground was locked. There were no rangers or any postings explaining why the gate was locked. After calling the phone number that was posted several times, no one answered. We chose this location because it is close to Sequoia. We called recreation.gov, and they had no answers either. So, we drove another two hours to another campground and arrived after dark. On Thursday, December 26, we received a phone call from Isaac apologizing. He said someone forgot to unlock the gate. This unacceptable lack of responsibility cost us a lot of extra time and money.

Pine Flat lake is beautiful. However, during this visit, the ranger office's phone system was down. Two men were in the back of my campsite looking in my camper on Friday and on Saturday night, someone stoled my nice picnic table set up. The rangers couldn't be reached on the phone. In addition, ranger presence was very thin. It did not feel safe, even with the volunteers next door.

Always a great experience coming to island park. I'm from Orange County and drive all the way down for the fishing and camping. Amazing place to go.

Great place to camp as a first timer. Definitely recommend booking the spots right on the lake for a better view. The spot I got was not so much leveled but did not have any inconvenience in parking my pop up trailer. Did not use the restrooms so cant comment on it. The only thing I kind of noticed was odd is that we saw a couple of campers moving from their spots as soon as other families arrived. We never got checked in by no one, did not have to show our reservations receipts so I assumed these people didnt make any and were just using the spots that were available, and then had to move once the ones who paid for the spot arrived.Other than that, we liked the campground. Easy to get there as well.

We were very happy with our stay, the view of the lake was stellar, the weather was perfect, the park ranger was so kind and friendly. The only thing is the spaces are very unlevel and require a lot of blocks to level the RV. We used everything we had and were fine, had we not brought so many blocks we would be taking a trip to Fresno to buy some more. The bathrooms and showers leave alot to be desired, cool water in shower with low water flow, cleanliness is not the best, and some are closed. This campground needs alot of upkeep and then it would be a well sought after place to camp.

We've made this campground a regular destination. The last two camping trips were perfect, weather and all.
@CharlotteFEFF2 · Camped on Oct 4, 2024 at Campsite #49
It was nice and quiet end of September (off season). #49 was shaded most of the day. However, there was a significant slant down hill on the left side of the driveway (facing the lifejacket hangers). Leveling blocks would be needed. And the #47/48 double site was very close.

This is a beautiful location. It was extremely clean and quiet. The water pressure in the shower was 0. It barely dribbled out of the shower head and it was cold. The price was right and the space was very open.

Gets hot here but the site was breezy, had shade, beautiful view of the lake and we just loved it. Will be back.

This is the weirdest campground we have ever experienced. Many sites were hard to access, were located in odd places, and dirty. Our site, #9, was located in a parking lot. No host on site, though a ranger did come by near dark to verify we were legit.

Great spot for first time campers

First day ruined the whole stay. Previous camper overstayed and we had no place to set up the tent. We were so tired from the travel and just wanted to get our tent up and cook our food. We did not start setting up till they arrived and left at 830pm. We were already exhausted, hungry, dehydrated, and experienced heat exhaustion. We had headaches for 2 days. Not even the rangers could get a hold of the previous campers.

We were impressed with customer service before and during our trip. We had a question about the site so we called and left a message. They called back before the end of day to give us the answer. Even though the campground was pretty empty on the weekday but a ranger came to our reserved spot to make sure the correct registrant showed up for the day. Even though we were mostly left alone in the nature, which we like, we felt the sense of being protected at the right degree.

This was our second time camping here this summer, but we have camped here numerous times over the past few years. I wouldn't recommend this campground to anyone expecting to sleep at night or to anyone with children (unless you want them to learn a wide variety of new cuss words and surprising new ways to use the F word). The campground rules are posted but no one is there to enforce them. There's nothing you can do about the loud music & the loud, vulgar, inconsiderate drunk people who yell & scream until 3:30 a.m. That's what we had to deal with last night. Quiet Time after 10:00 p.m. is a joke. If you're lucky you'll see the ranger one time in the early evening when he/she drives through the campground checking reservations which takes about 10 minutes and then they're gone again until the next evening. There is no campground host and nobody works at the pay-station anymore. You're left to deal with the chaos on your own and you can't even count on having a phone signal to call for help if you need to. I know I won't be camping here ever again.

We stayed in site 9 at the top of the hill. You parked in the parking lot, but had a quiet, private sitting area with a great view of the lake. It was fairly close to attractions we wanted to see. The bathrooms were not cleaned often enough.
@JohnW4841416 · Camped on May 30, 2024 at Campsite #5
The site is not portrayed correctly in the pictures. The people next to us were smoking a lot of marijauna . The heat was triple digit and the bathrooms were filthy and had big problems too many. The table was on a slope someone tried to level it using rocks. The campsite was not level and it was very close to the other two campsites next to it. I'm not going to stay here again. Please have the forest service clean their restrooms properly. They neeed to be press washed and disinfected! Totally gross

Third time coming here and I love how accessible the lake is to us. There are occasionally a lot of bugs but thats really anywhere you camp so plan ahead. Closest convenience store is about 15 minutes and there isnt really any service at the site. Great place to disconnect for the weekend.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
