Despite being a larger campground, the forested and hilly nature of the property allows for a relatively intimate and private feel. Access to the water across the street was perfect for our needs, but the beach is truly a small sliver of waterfront, thus in COVID times it is difficult to relax too much in that space.

William Kent Campground was well maintained by friendly hosts. The restrooms were new and immaculate - flush toilets and sink but no shower facilities. The camp is surrounded by towering mature pine trees so offers ample shade throughout. The campground is largely carved into a hill but offers flat tent areas and car spaces. We stayed at Site 63 which is closest to the entrance, also close to the water spigot and restrooms. We were able to fit 2 tents (6-man and 2-man) and a shower tent in our space. The campground is surrounded by vacation homes all along the perimeter so their backyards are directly adjacent to campsites. I would highly recommend securing sites on the interior of the loops. The William Kent Beach across the street is very small and sandwiched between marinas/boats. So perhaps only best for some sand play for smaller children or brief visit rather than a long day on the lake. The greatest advantage of William Kent is that it is located across the street from a lakefront restaurant (outdoor dining was open during the pandemic), and market/deli as well as a short walk to two cafes. The super friendly Westside Market & Deli is across the street for coffee, sandwiches and upscale snacks and supplies.
