Our first stay in a few years and we really enjoyed ourselves! The host and hostess were so welcoming and such nice people! They ran guard on the entrance, as they should, to let in only us campers. Otherwise, that campground would be run over with people looking for a place to park. Made it very comforting for us. The campground, itself, is old Tahoe (except the new section in the middle) which makes for narrow driveways, sites and closed in by homes and broken down fences (in some parts). Little to NO AT&T cell service..only if you drive into Tahoe City, but, all that being said we really did enjoy our 2 nights. We drove in with a shredded tire. The camper across from us offered to change it for us, my husband went to the host to borrow a star tire tool which he came by and helped. Another camper was driving by and offered his car jack which the host went to get for us in his golf cart. Was so nice of everyone! The host and hostess (with the mostest) were so friendly and helpful. Location is perfect for dining out, Tahoe across the 2-lane road, lots of activity of kids, families, travelers...good vibes! Cute little market, as well, for basic fun necessities. To add to the never-a-dull-moment weekend...we heard fire sirens the a loud ka-boom. A fire had broken out in an old apartment building and exploded a propane tank (boom). We all gathered in front of the host trailer and watched the fireman put out the fire and clean up the mess. Only negative/suggestion we have is the section of the entry road that we were on needs speed warning signs..people were driving pretty fast through there. We were in site 8 and had the forest view from the back! Very nice! We're hoping to get back to William Kent before this season closes.

Spot 008 is legit. A short walk to the beach. Great atmosphere.

Under rated spot on the shores of Lake Tahoe

Nice quiet campground off route 89 in Lake Tahoe Basin. Greeted warmly. We were warned about active bears right at check-in. Ate at the restaurant across the street. Walked on the paved path that is parallel with rte 89. Bathrooms werent heated nor extremely clean.

The campground is pretty nice and the hosts were nice too. The two things that made me not give a perfect score were that the beach isn’t dog friendly even with a leash and the spot was level, nor could we put out our awning because trees were so close.

William Kent campground is very well maintained and managed. The host we interacted with was lovely and very helpful. The toilet areas were very well maintained and there were also ample faucets for water supply. The campsites were spacious and there were many trees to provide shade, as well as opportunities to sling some hammocks. The only drawback to this campground that it seems like the property line backs-up against some nearby private properties on two sides, which doesn't make it seem as woodsy and away from civilization as you'd hope to feel at a campsite. This is only a very small gripe and does not hinder the experience much in a negative way. It is also a very short walk to the beach and a couple places to eat if you feel like taking a break from cooking at your site.
