It was our first time camping at Fallen Leaf and we were not disappointed. The general store was a dirt path away from our site and made it very convenient to buy stuff we forgot at home like chips for our walking tacos. Also the lake was not that far away. Made it there by a quick walk through the campsite. We were at site 130 right by the bathrooms. The only downfall from that was at times noisy due to people hanging out. All and all was a great trip would definitely return.

Excellent trip with the dogs, and had a blast hiking around Fallen Leaf Lake. The rain the last morning was an early wake up call to breakdown camp, but still a great mini getaway.

The showers were out of order anywhere near our campsite ( 130). Then they worked on ( and closed) the toilets that were next to our site. The showers we did use ( by camp 5) were spraying all over the place and out the door. Ive been camping there for years ( our family flew our helicopters for the forestry) and it's always been a delight to stay at Fallen Leaf Campgrounds. The folks were friendly but the facilities just were not in order. COVID has been tough but...... wow. Why charge for sites that are not ready?

One of my favorite places to camp at. Friendly staff, clean restrooms/showers and plenty of campsites. Access to both Fallen Leaf Lake and Lake Tahoe. Nearby hiking, mountain bike and road bike trails. Book well in advance (6 months) for a prime spot as this is a campsite that is usually booked through the summer. Campsite has a small store if you need to buy ice, wood, utensils or any of the small items one may have forgot to pack.
