The campground is in a good location. Short walk to lake. Access to bike paths. Frustrated with lack of access to moving campsites. Many empty spots, but unable to use the website to move rangers lack of access as well.

Keep in mind that you're in bear country, so there's no need for constant horn honking or shoutingit can get tiresome quickly. Regular campers mentioned how they often shake their heads at the overreactions of some visitors. While bears did visit the area daily, they were simply in search of food. Just be responsible and store yours properly. Aside from that, the location was beautiful, and the camp hosts were incredibly friendly. Fallen Leaf Lake is absolutely magical!

Bears tried to break into our trailer while we were sleeping inside!

Clean bathrooms, helpful staff. There are bears, though!

Although I understand the no-fire policy, it's too cold to not having camp fire at this time of year.

The most beautiful lake! So close to Tahoe, but you have your own private lake with less people! Bring your bike so you can explore the miles of pavement and views!! I suggest visiting angora lake also, totally worth the hike and walk!!! Everything about this place is amazing!! There are so many things to explore and do!! My favorite place!!!

Beautiful campground. Nicely spaced sites, big trees, walk to the meadow or lake.

Loved the campsites here! Very good amounts of space between you and the next campers, and the wilderness is truly all around you here! I've been to many campgrounds where you're just on a loop drive, and they cram in all the slots and you're nowhere near scenery or open spaces. Happy to say, that is not the case here! Lots of scenery literally right next to some of the campsites, and tons of trailheads a 5-10 minute walk from the campsites that aren't directly next to open spaces or scenery. Highly recommend this campground!
