We stayed at site 176 towards the end of August on our cross country roadtrip. FLL is stunning and Tahoe was one of our favorite spots we visited across the country on this trip. The site was huge and well spread out. Not so private that you cant see your neighbors, but private enough that you cant hear your neighbors conversation, which is better than I can say for most overcrowded campgrounds we stayed at. It was a bit of a runaround to find shower tokens and a bathroom with available showers, but at least they have showers! We ended up having to spend one of our nights in our car instead of our tent after a mom and baby bear climbed on our picnic table like a jungle gym while we were cooking dinner over the fire (no bear attractants near the table, everything that wasnt on the fire was in the bear box) but were easily scared off by some noise. Unfortunately about twenty minutes later the baby bear came back BY ITSELF and ran all over our site screaming, not scared off at all by our noise. Our very kind neighbors came over from their site to help us chase it away and alert other campers nearby. So goes it with bears at Tahoe, I hear.

clean and friendly. Love coming end of season when limited campsites and fewer people.

The only negative was campfire smoke. I wish people would learn how to burn a campfire.for example...Burn Drywood only, would that doesn’t create a lot of smoke. And when you’re done with your fire put it out completely. Don’t allow it to smolder all night and all day long

We were only able to stay for one night, but this campground was beautiful, the bathrooms were pristine and the sites were LARGE. The lake was so tranquil and clear and not busy at all. We brought our pup (kept on leash, of course) and enjoyed the sunrise, I would absolutely make this a destination the next time we're in the area. Only regret is we weren't able to stay longer.

I love FLL campground. They accept dogs. Very family-friendly. The staff is very friendly and FLL campground is right next to FL Lake, Mt. Tallac and the desolation wilderness, Angora lake - and of course - about 4 different Lake Tahoe beaches are within a few miles of the campground. But also - you're about 10 minutes outside of town in case you forget something - which we always do. Big Thumbs up.

I've been going to FLL every year since I was in diapers. While Tahoe's popularity has made the overall experience less enjoyable, that's not FLL's fault. I wish there were some sites kept for first come first serve, things book up really really early. The visit in Sept had so many flies and other bugs that I almost didn't recognize the experience. The campers around us were noisy during the day, and the previous campers left the site too dirty. These are both things I've seen at other campgrounds, but I was hoping to see better camp host involvement. I didn't see any. I'd love to return to the campground in the coming years seeing improvement of the stewardship of this beautiful park and its grounds.
