Site was very clean and cozy. Toilets are also very clean.Bears are highly active in the campground. We woke up to one growling right outside the tent.

Lovely site with partial shade and sun. We needed leveling on one side for our Sprinter van. Instead of backing in, we headed in so that our screen door would be on the side of the picnic table and campfire ring. Only saw ONE bear! Easy walk to a clean restroom. Rode our bikes to the clean shower house. Also rode our bikes to Fallen Leaf Lake where we got phone reception!!

It was a classic campsite that would have been 5 stars, BUT the shower situation and the bear situation brought my experience down.-Showers: Showers only take tokens, you can only buy tokens in cash and can only buy tokens at the campsite entrance. It's $1 / 3min. What's worse - this was not detailed anywhere and was only figured out by several back and forth trips to each location AND only 1 /4 shower was working in our camp area.-Bears: We understand we're in bear country, but this campsite has a serious problem. There were two bear car break-in's within the week we were there and to our knowledge the campsite did nothing about it. One bear break-in was across from our campsite and waking up at 4am to someone yelling for help is VERY unsettling. Moreover, after those individuals left the campsite had spilt food all around it - to our knowledge it didn't look like the management had any intention on cleaning this up to discourage the bear from returning AND after speaking with the new campers for that site, the campground did not give them the heads up to be extra cautious because a bear was very likely going to return to that exact site to try again.I'm never staying here again mostly because I don't agree with how they handled the bear situation. I don't have a perfect solution but I hope they don't wait till someone gets hurt before they try to improve the situation.

Great campground. Clean restrooms, large sites, easy access to Fallen Leaf Lake and hiking.
