Ive been going to Fallen Leaf Lake since childhood and swimming in it is my favorite summer activity. This year was cut short due to the bear activity. It wasnt the bears ambling through my site that made me pack up my tent, it was the horns honking, pots banging, alarms blaring to scare them off that made me decide Id rather have the peace and quiet of home.

Beautiful campground, helpful and courteous staff, clean restrooms and campsites, no dump station.

My wife and I love this campground. Not a bad site in the place. Beautiful towering pines and clean mountain air. We camp here 3 or 4 times every year and always look forward to our next trip!

So many negative encounters with Kiosk staff who were micromanaging the campground from the confines of the kiosk. Those of you with toddlers, seniors, kayaks, etc will be walking from your campsite because even though you paid for the use of the campground it doesnt include the trailhead parking lot within the campground. To use that is an extra $10 a day or face a ticket even with a handicap placard. While short staffed and unable to drive through the campground to resolve issues, they managed to issue tickets on a regular basis. Never heard of a park that charges their campers extra to use the day use.

It's such a beautiful lake and a great campground. The bathrooms can be hit or miss--for example, some don't even have mirrors. Some of the dumpsters need attention to ensure they can lock--this is critical considering how much bear activity there is in the campground.

We have been camping here for over 50 years. We love to location to Fallen Leaf and Lake Tahoe. The camp hosts are fantastic. They are helpful and keep the campground looking great. We look forward to returning for many years.
