Crowded, loud music even past quiet hours, inattentive camp hosts. Tent camping is now a rarity in this once serene site, with generators starting as early as 6 am. Disappointing experience after decades of nostalgic trips to Fallen Leaf. Still a beautiful lake.

The staff/volunteers/hosts at this campground are extremely friendly and helpful. Very clean, sites spaced apart and large.

Normally my favorite place to camp. I brought my 3 year old daughter and my 5 year old son out for a couple nights. First night we didnt have a fire just saved the wood for the next night. We finally start a fire at 6:00pm for smores that my kids have been excited about for weeks. All the sudden without warning Fred throws water on our campfire. I told him he has no permission to be here and I didnt give him permission to do that at which point he accused me of threatening him and called the sheriff. I have all this on video. The sheriff actually came and I had to spend time talking to them instead of spending it with my family. Fred should be fired. He has no business being around people and acting like that around children. It traumatized my kids they were crying and they keep talking about the incident. Asking why that bad man did that?!

Bears! This campground was very nice, but the bears were no joke. We had one enter our camp shortly after dark while we were sitting by the fire, and had to scare another one off that was approaching later in the evening. We heard several other campers doing the same until late. They also investigated our vehicle throughout the night even though it was completely empty of all items. They werent aggressive, but I would not recommend this campground to anyone who is uncomfortable with these scenarios. We followed all protocols for storing food and scented items in the bear boxes and still had this experience. Our visit was during mid-September with a relatively full campground.

It's a bear active site!

We love the campground and come back each year but would like to recommend the following improvements:
1) Separation of loops with/without generators, or - even better - ban generators on whole campground
2) Restrooms need to be renovated, each preferably divided into 4 separate stalls, accessible to men and women (as seen at Cold Water campground in Mammoth Lakes).

The campsite hosts were amazing and friendly. This is my most favorite campsite to visit bc there’s hot showers and the bathrooms are pretty clean considering how many people are using them. I love Fallen Leaf Lake camping!!!

We enjoyed the large sites and beautiful trees (giving shade). There are many opportunities for hiking and biking from the campground. The campstore is well-stocked and the young man working there was quite polite and helpful. The workers checking us in at the entry booth were exceptionally funny as well as being welcoming. The bear boxes are well-constructed and easy to use. All this positivity - but we are "old-school" and are not fans of reservation-only campgrounds. Spontaneity should be preserved and encouraged.
