Beautiful campground. Clean bathrooms. Amazing, peaceful lake for swimming, paddling, paddleboarding. Try to snag a campsite near the lake (near campground entrance) if you can, because it is a 15 min+ walk to the lake if you are in the far end of the campground, and there is no parking near the lake unless you want to pay $12. This is a VERY bear-conscious campground, so if your whole party isn't willing or able to follow the strict storage rules, you should probably camp somewhere else.

Beautiful campground with large sites(not all but many!) walking distance to Fallen Leaf Lake and a short drive to Lake Tahoe. All of the workers are extremely friendly and helpful, especially Cody, one of the camp hosts; he's the best!

Great location, very nice campground. Facilities were as "to be expected" for a campsite. We were told that there was a lot of bear activity within the campground and that we would for sure see a bear but no luck :-( a surprise was the "false tarantulas" crawling everywhere :-( Staff is very nice.

The only issue was that we got back late from a summit climb and could not take a shower-- went to take it and the sign on the shower says the tokens are at the store-- so we thought we could not get a token as the store was closed at the time --- when we checked out we noticed the token machine was out side the store -- please add this to your notice --- Tokens available outside the entry to the store -- available 24 hrs a day -- pay with credit card --- Had a great time Thanks

Excellent campground. Every site is flat, has lots of trees, and has great spacing between campsites. Add easy walking access to a beautiful lake and you can’t ask for anything more.

First of all, that short driving distance from the highway to the entrance is ridiculous. There is no excuse for the chopped up, pot hole ridden, stretch of road that we had to endure to get to the entrance. Not only did it knock us around but, cabinet doors etc were busted open in our trailer by the time we got parked. Why is that road is such disrepair? Our site was ok, rough, tell tale signs of no forest management, half dead trees, piled up pine needles, broken limbs on the ground, a fired waiting to happen. No cell service. People driving way above the speed limit through the park. The $10 parking fee for paid campers to get to the trail heads. Going from Nevada campgrounds to California campgrounds are night and day. No more camping in Kalifornia for us!

Great campground. Clean restrooms. Friendly and helpful hosts. Great for dog owners with close proximity to Fallen Leaf Lake.

We love Fallen Leaf Lake! We have been a number of times in the summer and this was our first camping trip there in the fall. It was less crowded and just beautiful. Camping here is really nice. The campground is clean and well managed. We come every year and will continue this tradition. We have always been tent campers and are now trailer campers, both are easy here. We paddle board, kayak, hike and bike while staying here. Highly recommend this campground and area.
