Camp ground was great, lake was perfect, neighbors were nice. Tallac as always was stunning. Our complaint was with the management. Within 2 hours of arriving and setting up camp we were treated very poorly by an extremely rude camp host manager. My wife prepared lunch for our daughter, then walked our son across the street to his grandparent's site, she came right back to the site to find a camp host (Tracy) in our site. Our daughter was in the site. Tracy proceeded to inform my wife of the bear box policy while sprinkling it with lies like "bears can't smell food in a bear box" and you "received a pamphlet upon arrival" (we didn't). He then threatened to expel us from the campground if he caught us with an open bear box. Our daughter (13) was in the site the whole time. Tracy refused to acknowledge her existence. He wrote us a ticket then wouldn't leave our site, even when asked. We have been camping at Fallen Leaf every year for a long time and have never had a bear get into our food. We are vigilant about the bear box and keeping coolers out of sight in the RV. We should have closed the bear box. Tracy could have told us that in a friendly manner, and we would have been happy to comply. He didn't. He was rude, condescending, and robotic. It was a really rough start to a week of camping and it left us all a little dumbfounded as to why Tracy was so rude. As the week wore on we were able to settle down, relax, and enjoy the area. I can't wait to return, hopefully we don't have another run in with Tracy

The stay was wonderful as always. Campground was very clean and actually pretty quiet also in the evenings and mornings. There was one host that seemed to have quite a chip on his shoulder and who was not very nice. As I was walking back into the campground from a hike with my dog on our first day and as I was getting ready to put his leash back on, the dog saw my kid across the road (in our campsite 100 feet away) and beelined it over there. This host lost his mind and was screaming at me to put my dog on a leash. I'm sorry....but the situation really didn't warrant that strong of a reaction. He eyeballed me every time I saw him after that too. Other than the one guy, everyone else was fantastic! Bring your own firewood if campfires are allowed when you're there. It was $15 to buy a normal small bundle there. Fallen Leaf Campground is such a wonderful spot. Highly recommend.

As the first time camper, I am really happy for the stay at Fallen Leaf during two days weekend trip. Clean bathroom and big camp site. Fallen Leave is like a private lake, very quiet and peaceful. I would like to stay there all day long. Also the shower is a plus! The only bad luck is that I didn't see bears:(

Great campsite with wide sites and a clean facilities. Bears are active so take extra precautions with your food. They're looking for easy meals.

The campground hosts in site #186 are contributing to a poorly run camp. I have been coming to Fallen Leaf and other National Park Camps for 40+ years and have never seen these problems of a host before. 1) Bears came and had a feast on trash left under the 5th wheel. The trash was picked up and placed back in the can but was not disposed of in the appropriate dumpster. 2) The hosts and their guests parked their cars with tires off the pavement and in the forest, daily. There were many campers who followed this example, however in conversation, other campers were told to move cars that were off pavement. 3) Several times a day the host's black dog was permitted off leash, unattended, to used areas in and outside camp #186 for his toilet. There was never any attempt to pick up the dog crap. This host is a very poor custodian of our forests and should be replaced.
