The site was a good location, although a bit rocky when walking between the car and picnic table. I think someone had dragged the picnic table over to the fire pit to use it as seating, but it was too heavy for us to drag away, so we had to keep on lookout to make sure the campfire didn't set our picnic tablecloth on fire. The location (site 139) is good; close to the restrooms but not right next-door to them (site 138) where you are annoyed by the users and spotlight all night. We didn't see any bears but had to stand on guard whenever other sites started hollering, in case they were chased into our camp. This was only the first night. The second night was pretty quiet. The showers could be cleaner. They should be scrubbed out every day, but they are growing that pink mildew/mold around the base. I think they are missing a few spots. I wish there was a shelf inside the showers to place your stuff, but it's just you and 4 walls unless you use the handicap shower. I had to hook a plastic bag on the corner of the shower door and work out of that. The showers are decently warm. If you want a warmer shower, try flushing the toilet. The showers token are $1 and you get 3 minutes of water. I only needed 2. If I conditioned my hair, I'd need a 3rd for a 2nd rinse. The road into camp is a disgraceful potholed mess. You have to be very careful, or it will eat your tires. If they pull in an average of $33/day/200 campsites or $6,600/day, you'd think they could afford a bag of Quikrete or asphalt or something. But they simply can't be bothered.

Beautiful campground, rangers are super nice. Store all food in the food storage box. We had 2 visitors (bears) at in two nights. The campground is located close to do shorter or longer walks at the lake.

#139-Beautiful campground ..very clean.need 4 quarters for shower. Perfect spot close to bathroom/showers. Bears around at night, we felt a Bear walking around our tent-
Use Bear Box for sure. The lake is amazing..even with the Bear experience -i feel we will comeback.!!

Very hard to beat Fallen Leaf Lake. Getting too busy, but the camp is well maintained and the staff are great. With the swelling demand for outdoor activities, the high demand is understandable.
