The people working the kiosk were great. Its very hard to get reservations here so we ended up with a longer stay and they were so flexible about letting different family members stay in our site on different days so everyone could enjoy the campsite. Our campsite was cramped for fitting our rv and car but it had a lot of living space behind it for group gatherings. The campground is huge (200+ sites) It might be nice to go in a season other than summer when it would be cooler and less crowded.

Site 20 has a significant slant making it difficult to level; surprised it is not tent only site. There was a divet /hole beside the picnic table waiting to sprain an ankle as well as numerous random rocks we had to collect to avoid the same fate. Table gives booty splinters any time you pivot. Tree doesnt allow for awning to retract more than a few feet. Site was terribly full of mosquitoes (yes, I know. Nature.) but to the point where we couldnt be outside to enjoy a campfire during the entire day, so come prepared. Site was in need of a good raking. A bear visit almost every night. No damage, no issues- just sharing for awareness.

Park is exceptional and one of our favorites. Staff/Hosts are outstanding! Site 20 is not very RV friendly, will be difficult to level RV, pretty significant downward slant from front to back.

i am reluctant to post a review for fear i won't be able to get a reservation next year. The one i got took many tries over two weeks six months in advance.... that said, the sites here are large and even though we got a bad one (#20, on a serious tilt for an RV but plenty flat space for a tent), we enjoyed the relative privacy. Good location for lunch at the Beacon, strolling through Tallac Historic Site or going to the beach.

Camp Host is an absolute waste. Stop behaving as if you only have to do your jobs when someone complains. These twenty something twits stayed up ALL NIGHT until 3 a.m. first night then 2 a.m. the second. They were talk yelling at level ten hour after hour. Then, one of them played bongo drums for 2 hours in the late hours on both nights. Yes I said bongo drums. You know that echo through the forested trees. The camp host was literally 4 sites away. I should not have to complain and then risk getting shot or being a victim of retaliation. Even better there were NINE PEOPLE staying the night. I am the simpleton that follows the rules and when I had 7 people (they max is 6 per site) Like a dummy I paid for two sites. When I called the campground after our stay to ask them why they don't enforce rules and gave them details about the drums and the nine people camping I got literally received every reason why. The employee never said " Yes those are the rules and yes they should have adhered to them" Instead I got " Well we can't watch every site every time" My response to that " No but you can at least tell the camp host to not just collect a paycheck but actually enforce rules?" just a thought? I then got, well we can accommodate for small children ( I told her they were 20's 30's and no kids) then she said "They could have had visitors" After I specifically explained they were extremely loud until the wee hours ALL NINE OF THEM. Her response was as if to say I am the jerk for even bringing it up. Keep in mind I never complained but called after my visit to clarify. I guess I don't need to adhere to quiet times and can bring as many people as I like. Do your job because when you don't other people have a horrible time. We are all supposed to be able to have a good time not just the loud disrespectful trash they doesn't give 2 hoots about anyone else but themselves. This WAS my favorite campground. The Hosts forget they have an actual job not just living there.
