The campsite was great, not too close to neighbors and well-equipped for our needs. Water, trash, and toilet/shower close by. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Close to many Tahoe adventures. Fifteen minutes to town.

Excellent experience accept for registering for a site. Gate should be able to assign and take payment for empty sites. We had to drive over 20 minutes away to use internet to extend our stay. Too stupid.

A great campground next to Lake Tahoe. Sites well spaced out, Hot Showers! Well maintained with bike paths. Perfect

Always such a pleasure to stay at Fallen Leaf Campground. The facilities are top notch and so is the staff. We always make an effort to go to Fallen Leaf every year to camp and we've never been disappointed.

The bears were out of control and roamed the campsite in broad daylight. Other campers did not take this seriously and left food out, then videoed the bears digging in their supplies! We slept poorly, on high alert.

The hiking and lakes in this area are stunning. The campsite was well maintained. The lack of campfires made the site quieter, darker and less rowdy. What sounded like an open air dance club is S. Lake Tahoe kicked in around 10 on a Saturday night.

Was able to book a site at the last minute. The campground had lots of trees, so we were able to hang our hammocks. Site 42 was also close to the restrooms. The restrooms near site 42 had a showers and they were clean. It was nice not having to walk up and downhill to get to the restroom. Fallen Leaf lake was also gorgeous.

The campsites are large and most have lots of shade. You are very close to Camp Richardson resort, with access to Lake Tahoe and Tahoe Keys as well as South Lake Tahoe. Fallen Leaf Lake is beautiful, with a shallow rocky beach that is best with water shoes. The only bad parts are the is extremely weak cell service in the campground, the road into the campground is a bumpy mess, and there is poor access to Fallen Leaf Lake. There is a trail to the lake from within the campground, but very little parking near the start of the trail. We had to have someone drop everyone off with chairs and coolers at the start of the trail and then drive back to camp and bike to the lake. If you want to kayak, you can try carrying the kayaks a LONG way down the trail to the lake, or drive 5 miles down a bumpy, narrow, terrible one lane road the marina at the other end of the lake to launch. However, there is limited parking and there might not be a place to park when you get there. If you're adventurous enough to take a boat trailer down that road, there is a water ski course on the lake, but it is all the way at the other end by the campground. There is a webcam at the marina that looks over the lake if you want to see conditions before driving down there. You can find it at.www.alertwildfire.org/tahoe
