A great spot! Secluded, laid back and quiet. And the lake is stunning. We were there at the very end of the season so the store was closed for the season, they had no more firewood and was chilly at night. Keep in mind this campground has NO hookups but it does have a RV dump and water fill stations. The showers are powered by tokens which you buy from a machine at the. A buck gets you three minutes and its plenty hot (and clean) so no issue there. DON'T use GPS to guide you into this place as it will take you down a very twisty and tight and bumpy backroad. Come in from the main highway (89) off Fallen Leaf Road.

Beautiful campgrounds with plenty of trees and clean sites. Friendly and helpful staff. Restrooms were kept clean. A short walk to the lake. Definitely coming back!

5 Stars for the quiet, pretty campground. 2 stars for the nickel and diming. No matter how many nights you stay and hundreds you spend, you have to pay extra for the dump station. And, no matter how many nights you stay and hundreds you spend, you have to pay extra for the day use area, even when you have already paid to be there for the day/nights... or several days/nights (for example, to park your vehicle if you have a kayak or paddleboard to bring to the lake.)Negative stars for the entry road: The (very long) road to enter the campground, for several years now, is what it must be like to drive on roads in a third world country. Drive *very* slowly or you will damage your vehicle and/or RV. It has gotten increasingly worse over the years with no fix.

Sites badly need repaved, the wheels of our trailer barely fit on the asphalt; very unlevel

Great night’s accommodation! We spent the day hiking up to Grass Lake, which is at the far end of Fallen Leaf Lake. Usually our hiking group heads straight back to Sacramento. It was great to be able to just make our way to our campsite and relax. We had a roomy site right across from a nice clean bathroom. We took a cooling dip in the lake after setting up our tent. Life was good!
