Surprisingly lovely camping experience! Staff were so helpful and friendly and campers are respectful by maintaining quiet hours and not destroying the bathrooms or showers! Will definitely be coming back to fallen leaf!

This was our groups annual week at Fallen Leaf and we never failed to come away feeling happy and refreshed. We did a little touring this trip and walked through the old Tallac estates which are just across the highway from the campgrounds entrance then walked along the boardwalk at the visitors center. Lots of bear sightings this year more than usual so please remember to use the bear boxes in camp. Well be back next year!

Fallen leaf is one of my favorite places to camp. They do seem to be a lot of their issues every morning and every night, but the staff is always very friendly.

We planned our week at Fallen Leaf to occur before school let out so that the campground would be quieter and less busy. The lake was cold and clear and perfect for kayaking. Drop your gear off at the bottom of the trail then park in the day use lot. That saves you from having to carry your gear all the way. The showers were a nice feature. Buy tokens from the gate. Theyll buy back the ones that you dont use. Definitely coming back again next May!

Thouroughly enjoyed 2 days and nights at Fallen Leaf campground ! We were very lucky to have sunny warm weather in early Spring . Fallen Leaf is a beautiful and beautifully maintained campground with a very friendly and enjoyable staff . Location is close-ish to a commercial area - convenient to amenities yet feels removed from them . Bike paths that take you everywhere around Tahoe connect with the camp ground . Fallen Leaf lake a short walk from a campground connected pathway - its a spectacularly beautiful lake . Lake Tahoe area is spectacular and this camp ground is a gem . Dont leave any food out of the provided bear boxes ! There ARE bears that cant resist the smell of food and toiletries ! We watched a very large black bear disrupt a neighbor campers breakfast and enjoyed slurping up the bacon grease sitting at their picnic table ! Campground employees were very responsive and sternly but calmly helped getting the bear move on.

Fallen Leaf is the best public campground we have visited. Large sites, clean bathrooms, and very quiet. I just wish the reservation system did not require so much effort to get a site.

One of my favorite campgrounds to visit. Right across the street from Tallac, just down the road from Taylor Creek, and close enough to South Lake Tahoe and Stateline for the amenities there. Remember, store food in the bear boxes, not in your car or tent.

We very much appreciated the larger than usual tent camping sites and the clean restroom and shower facilities. The camp store was a bonus as well.

By far my favorite camp grounding. It was nice and the access to the lake is not difficult. Be prepare for the cold nights as the temperature significally drops. Also the first time the maps sent us through the residential side that has this narrow uneven road, try to avoid if you are hauling anything big or have a big car... go through the paved smooth road by the camp richardson/kiva beach side. Also this site is by the main road (entrance) so it can noisy with all the cars passing.. only reason i gave it a 4 star review was because one of the nights we stayed so many cars at night passed through and they were loud.
