Very clean campground. Would be great to have bear boxes. Male bear roaming.

This is my favorite campground. Its typically very peaceful and quiet. Im not sure if it was just the loop I stayed in, but it was very loud even past quiet hours. Neighbors running by our tent, neighbors keeping cars on all night, large loud groupsit was a bit disappointing. We talked to neighbors and hosts but it didnt do too much. I will absolutely return because all of my other trips were always amazing! The bear activity was consistent and a neat experience to see. We kept things put away but theyd still wander through just in case and the kids really enjoyed it. This campground gives spacious shaded sites, clean bathrooms, friendly hosts, if you get the opportunity, check it out.

It was really entertaining to watch a bear tear up my neighbors campsite. Nature at its best. Beautiful campground as well with a great location.

Lovely campground! Went the week of 10/7/2023 and had no problem making a reservation online the day before. We arrived after staff had left and there was a piece of paper taped to the toll booth for us to grab. Bathrooms were clean enough and had sufficient toilet paper. Showers were great as well. It should be noted that the tokens can be acquired from a machine attached to the side of the mini market building at the front of the campground next to the toll booth. An employee will buy them back if you don't use them all. Bears are very active, one tried to take our food AS we were putting it in the bear box. Use them!

Campsite bathroom needs a bit more clean up, but combined with shower facility and bath makes a good sense after sweaty hikes.

Fallen Leaf Campground is one of the best campgrounds we have experienced. We were camping in our new 2022 Winnebago View class C motorhome with 2 E bikes. This campground has large open sites with large trees but not too many trees to totally block my solar panels. Several sites are pull through with large driveways. Several spots are up against the river and others are closer to the lake but still several 100 feet away. The lake was very calm in the morning but often became choppy in the afternoon. One car was broken into by a bear but we did not see any bears during our stay (May 16-19). Lots of biking paths to Lake Tahoe and to town. We took our bikes to the Beacon Bar & Grill for a wonderful sun filled lunch on the outside deck overlooking the beach and dock. Fallen Leaf Campgrounds do not have any hook-up or dump station but they have a friendly staff, several newly paved sites, and new clean bathrooms with pay showers. We have been camping for over 35 years and we consider this location to be in our top 5 campgrounds. We are planning to go again in the very near future.

The staff is extremely nice and helpful. Due to an error on our part we ended up in a space too small for our RV. They searched their reservations and found a space that we could fit in which ended up being much prettier. As we headed to our new space a sow bear and her two cubs were crossing the road ahead of us. Wow! Gorgeous campground nestled in the trees. An easy walk to Tallack and Pope Beach (you’ve got to see “The Vatican”, the Pope Family’s main cabin and guest cabins. Money!!!). Took a beautiful drive around the east side of Fallen Leaf Lake to Glen Alpine Falls. There are several cabins that overlook the falls, although one of them had the ultimate view. Can only imagine what it would be like to be in a lounge chair on the deck with a nice drink of choice and the roaring sound of the falls bringing peace to one’s soul.
