Great campground. Nice spaces between campsites and grounds are clean. A lot of bear activity. We have stayed at this campground in the past also and have never seen bears everyday like we did this last trip. Actually had a bear walk into camp at 6 am. Use the bear box religiously.

Pros: Site 193 is very close walking distance to the lake, about 0.5 mile. Large spacious campsite, corner position. Token operated showers, $1 for 3 mins. Close drive to beaches nearby, Kiva beach and Pope beach. Staff are friendly and informative. Cons: Many brown bears active in evenings and mornings. Traversing through this campsite and surrounding sites. This site backs into a woodsy area then a meadow, so bears approach from the backside. Many other campers cancelled/left because of this. Bathrooms could have been more clean. Stayed in a different site at Fallen Leaf last year, had much cleaner bathrooms in that area. Visited the camp store 3 times, but never open as closed Mon-Tue and store worker left for lunch during the day. Still could purchase ice and firewood at the entrance despite store being closed.

Campground very clean. Bathrooms cleaned several times throughout the day. Only down side was showers are still closed.
