Great location and campground close to South Lake Tahoe. Bike trails to the Lake Tahoe bike paths that run along Sout Lake Tahoe. Well maintained campground that I would highly recommend!

We love this campground for the beauty of the area and the nice sites. We also appreciate how hard the staff works to keep the bathrooms clean!

Beautiful campground with biking and swimming. Many bears, please make sure to use the provided bear boxes and dont leave any food outside.

One of the most beautiful campgrounds I have ever been in! The lake was stunning as well, and I felt like I was in the Alps. I can't give it a full 5 stars because the bear situation there is really wild. We felt like we were in their home, which we were. A bear actually pulled open our bearbox at night and ate a ton of our food. Another day we saw a giant bear push over a dumpster. If you are afraid of bears, stay in a yurt.

The park is huge. Most sites have little separation so it feels overcrowded. The lake is very nice.

My only gripe is they no longer provide potty bags at the beach.

I normally love this campground. Unfortunately, this year was not the case. The staff they have this year are the reason I will reconsider staying here again. Particularly the woman in the front booth. She was so rude to us upon arrival and they made sure to harass us throughout our time there. I didn’t catch her name but honestly it made us never want to stay at fallen leaf again, and that’s saying a lot because we love this campground. Really unfortunate when one person ruins the entire trip and possibly the rest of our future staying at this campground.

Been to Tahoe many times over the years but had never known of Fallen Leaf. It was only by chance that a campsite reservation at Fallen Leaf was available due to a late cancellation as I booked a last minute camping trip with my kids. And I feel like I struck gold as Fallen Leaf was truly AMAZING!Our campsite at Fallen Leaf had plenty of shade from the tall trees, was quite spacious, and neighboring sites were not encroaching our space. All sites seemed to have a long paved parking spot for RV/trailer and extra car which was really nice. Restrooms, showers, and water spigot were all pretty close. And was pleasantly surprised to see that the campground was well staffed with park staff making rounds and maintaining the facilities daily. On day 1 we biked a nice paved and pretty flat bike path less than a mile to Lake Tahoe. We took a short stroll on the Rainbow Trail at the Taylor Creek Visitor Center, then conveniently biked next door to visit the the Tallac Historic Site and Baldwin Museum. We then biked to the popular Pope Beach skipping the long line of cars trying to enter the parking lot. Pope Beach was really fun sand beach with a Sandy (no rocks) underfoot wading out quite far into the lake, which was the perfect swimming beach for adults and kids alike. After spending most of the afternoon at the beach, we biked to the ice cream shop at Camp Richardson, then made our way back to the campsite. On Day 2, we drove south past Fallen Leaf Resort to the 5 star rated Fallen Leaf Falls, then to the Glen Alpine Trailhead. The parking lot is pretty small and fills up quickly on popular days/weekends so need to get there early. We hiked the truly wonderful and scenic 3 miles to Glass Lake, then cooled off by jumping into the pools at the water falls (about 30 mi from the trailhead). On Day 3, we spent the day kayaking and swimming at the super scenic and mellow Fallen Leaf Lake. What a truly amazing 3 days at Fallen Leaf, an amazing Tahoe gem.

Normally I would rate this campground at five star. But when we arrived this time construction equipment and a pile of gravel and dirt were in both of our campsites I reserved months ago. So we had to find two different campsites for myself and my daughters family. We were not notified that those campsites I reserved would not be available due to construction. Very disappointing
