It was very nice of the campground hosts to give us perfect weather. Trailer spot was a little tight to get into, but the jar of Vaseline helped out tremendously.

The campground was clean, as usual. The weather was not very good, but that is not the fault of Fallen Leaf! When we pulled in and tried to fill our water tank, there was a long line. So we drove over the filling station near the Host site. We have filled up there before, but this year there was a log across the drive so we couldn't pull in, and I didn't want to block the road. A ranger was there in his golf cart. I asked if we could move the log so we could fill up our water tank. He said he should probably move it for us, but suggested we fill up at a different station. We explained the one up front had a long line, but he said he would guide us to another one. He ended up guiding us to the original one, where there was an even longer line by now. I don't know why they put a log across the filling station near the host site, unless the host just doesn't want to be bothered. It made it pretty inconvenient to wait in line for nearly 1/2 hour for others to fill up when there was a filling station nearby that could have been used.

We've stayed at Fallen Leaf dozens of times but this time we were constantly awakened by people honking their horns, turning on alarms, because of bear activity. The only good part about this visit was that fires weren't permitted. Campfire smoke can get oppressive there.

Very beautiful campground and site have plenty of space for a big company. also very cosy and distanced from other campgrounds. Very sweet women on entrance kiosk.
