The sites are great size! I'd love to have some if ANY flat land to put a tent but you're camping so it is what it is. Fire pits are GREAT tables are large i Love the pole in each site to hang a lantern. The bathrooms are nice (when they work) one of them was basically inoperable the whole time as the toilets were constantly flooded and then the shower also flooded. So clearly drains needed to be de clogged more often etc. but the other bathrooms were clean and great! I didnt see the camp host then entire time until about an hour before we left. be prepared for people to be LOUD until 2 am at least! Will be back but could use a little work.

My family and I had been looking forward to a peaceful retreat in the outdoors, and while the natural setting and views did not disappoint, several maintenance-related issues significantly diminished our experience.

My site was so sloped I could not level my LTV. I called and got a dozen other available sites to check to see if I could find something that was more level and I could not. The campground is the worse I hav seen in the last four months touring CA. The toilets were disgustingly bad and tent campers camped all around the toilets. Bad experience, we left after one night.

Very peaceful setting although there were few campers this time of year. Nice to have a dump station available.

I was originally assigned to site 43. That site is a terrible site. It is off level side to side by 7.5 inches. I did not have enough leveling blocks to raise my trailer that much. After 3 hours of working on it, I finally got it to within an inch, but it was still unlevel. I stayed one night and then worked with Dustin the next day to move to a different site. Unfortunately, trying to get my trailer out of the spot, a high tree trunk rubbed on my awning and put holes in it. I could see that some of the marks were from others that likely did the same thing. The staff was very helpful, but overall a bad experience because of the condition of that site. This was my third trip this year to Acorn and I enjoyed both other trips in different sites.

We visited in mid-February, 2022. The reservoir level was low, due to the drought that western states have been dealing with recently. The campground, in general, was nice and clean, but restrooms were not (at least, not near us). Also, apparently, the camp was very understaffed, as both camp hosts and rangers were rarely seen, and some administrative tasks were not being done. For example, when we arrived, there was no "Reserved" tag on our campsite post, which could have been a problem if someone had come in and thought it was available. The information board at the campground entrance says that, if a campsite doesn't have a "Reserved" tag, it is available, so the fact that tags were not placed could have cause some confusion. Also, we expected that a ranger or camp host would have come by and given us vehicle passes for our stay (per the information board at the entrance) but we had to go to the camp headquarters to get them. I spoke with the young lady at the reception desk, and she said that staffing was a real problem, and I hope it gets resolved. All interactions with staff were very cordial, and I know that they were trying to take care of a lot of different things with few people. We came in on a Wednesday, and things were nice and quiet until Friday, when a large group of campers came in, and ran generators all day. They weren't particularly noisy, but just made sitting outside less pleasant than otherwise. All in all, it was nice campground, and we are glad that we came when we did, as apparently summer temps are very high. We had high 60's/low 70's during the day, and 40's at night - very pleasant.
