Stayed in site 106, first time at the campground. Our camper ('21 Cougar SABWE 24ft) has a single slide and we were very close to not being able to open it, due to the large boulders that lined the driver's side of the driveway. Thankfully, we had about 6-8 inches of clearance on either side of the slide so it worked, but there was essentially a single location in the driveway that made this possible. There is 8-10 inch tall concrete curbing lining the passengers side of the driveway (for reference the spot is a back-in, not pull through), so clearing the curb with the trailer steps was also very tight. Campground was very clean, visitors and park staff were friendly, and our stay was quiet and relaxing. Site 106 has a beautiful lake view and is about 50 yards from the water. Highly recommend, but maybe visit before to ensure that the site will accommodate your trailer. Fill your fresh tank before getting to the campground!

This is a nice lakeside campground that's pretty sequestered from Valley Springs and makes you feel like you're more "away from civilization" than you really are. I was only using this as a one-night stop on a roadtrip, so my review is maybe a little different from people who are there for several days. You'll probably need Google Maps to get to the campground since it's a bunch of turnoffs from Valley Springs, but once you get close, the signage is clear. I highly recommend looking at a map of where your site is beforehand because there isn't a campground guide at the front, and the signage for which way to which sites is pretty lacking (there's a lot of one-way roads as well). The roads in the campground have a lot of loops and is anything but symmetrical, so you can get lost if you're not actually sure where you're going. As a note, the front gate is locked from 10 PM to 8 AM, but you can leave at any time (it's one of those one-way tire-slashing spike strips on the exit).

Most of the sites have long driveways for two cars (it's possible you could fit three actual cars); it's easier to back into them based on the one-way streets. There is pretty much no privacy; very little vegetation (even when it's not a drought), which could be good if you have a large group and need several adjacent sites, but bad if you are used to more backcountry camping and expect some division between sites. You can see everything and everyone for the entire stretch. Standard amenities at each site. Trash wasn't overflowing, and there is no bear risk here.

I thought the lakeside sites get a pretty good view. While I get that it is disappointing that the water level has receded so far...we have been in a historic drought for years... There is very little light pollution when it isn't busy - you can see constellations, etc. Sound carries quite a lot, and quiet hours are unclear / not enforced. Heard people past 1 AM from the other campground on this lake. No issues with bugs.
