The dump station was full and we had no notification. Only to find out when we were going that is had a full sign and it was blocked off. Called and they said it was scheduled to be emptied in 4 days. Was difficult to find a dump station, we should have notification before booking.

The campground is okay. It has plenty of geese and deer along with oak lined rolling hills of grass. However, the campground closed in our last day and told everyone to leave, IMMEDIATELY! Regardless of what the campers were doing. They stayed the water main had broke that morning but the water was still running. Many of the sites are unlevel. Our site had a dead tree marked to be cut down. It did not seem well kept. They also did not have a camp host. The ranger stated that he was only a volunteer. Stay at your own risk.

I have been going to New Hogans for 34 years. We love the lake but the campground’s are not being kept up! The restrooms were disgusting!!! There was dead frogs in the showers and the toilets were so gross toilet paper and poop in the men’s urinals. They really need to bring back camp ground hosts. We never saw a ranger cruse through the campgrounds once!! We will come back but I’m bring cleaning supplies to clean the restrooms!!! I have a lot of pride In recreation site to let it fail. I hope my review of this recreation site will hit home and make a difference! PS long time and hopeful future camper

I chose acorn camp ground because as advertised on the website they had showers and a bathroom. Well they do except the shower is broken. Make sure you bring plenty of toiletries because there is no paper and the three days I spent camping it did not get replenished. Also no running water sinks in the bathroom.
If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
