Best horse camp Ive been to so far. It is beautiful and challenging at times, we went just after a flood, so some trees were down but they could easily be navigated around. I would recommend a tracking app, at the very least a map. The trails can be confusing at first. Spent a week here and had plenty of trails to ride. We also hiked to the overlook and saw our camp from above, swimming holes close by and the water is crystal clear. Bathrooms are nice and clean. The camp host was very friendly and helpful. We plan on going every year.

Beautiful scenery! Clean bathroom. Had a group come in long after quiet time shining spotlight in tents and just overly loud. Hiked hemmed in hollow, didnt make it all the way but beautiful area! Went late July night temps still cool. Will go again!

Camped at Steel Creek and floated from Ponca to Kyle's Landing. Incredible views. The rapids were challenging but manageable.

The campground is sufficient. The outdoor center in Ponca is outstanding with great sandwiches and a covered front porch with a bar and stools for eating. The Elk wildlife center was interesting. The local hiking trails were very scenic.

No cell service and no Ranger coverage nearly lead to a tragedy as the river rose rapidly on our second night. Our group, 6 guys, barely got out before being swept away at 2 am. All good, but could have been bad.

Great trip, camp host was very friendly.

Please post signs on the road going through the horse camp to drive SLOWLY! Drivers speed up and down that road, which is unsafe and blew dust everywhere, during this dry fall season. Better yet, a sign restricting traffic on that road to HORSE CAMPERS ONLY.

Campground was well maintained. The trails around the camp we clear and marked pretty well. Overall a great experience.

Coming to Steel Creek is a yearly trip with family and friends, the campground never disappoints! The area is great, access to the river is wonderful.If you come early in the season the floating is great as well. Hiking in the area as abundant with many options from easy trails to more experienced ones. There are mountain bike trails close by and also rock climbing.

Beautiful location. It is nestled in a valley right next to the Buffalo river and sheer rock formation. Unfortunately, I was unable to stay due to weather forecast of severe weather and tornado concerns. I will definitely stay here in the future.

It was a wonderful camping experience! Great bathroom facilities, a little packed at times but we went on spring break. Camp site #4 was back by the woods and away from other campers, it was great!

Steel Creek never disappoints. We had a great time & the scenery is gorgeous. There were lots of other campers, but the sites are spread out enough you feel like you have plenty of personal space. The bathrooms were still open for the season & were clean & stocked with toilet paper & soap. The picnic tables were clean & in good shape. We will definitely continue to camp here.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
