This is a jewel of a park. Used it as our home base for floating the upper Buffalo River and fishing on the White River. We drove up to the restaurant, hoping to buy some ice. Seems like theyre renovating it, but while we were there, we discovered a gorgeous view of the buffalo river and our campground. I hope we get back sometime.

Beautiful campground; campsites are fantastic; clean bathrooms. Lots of nice hikes; walk to the river is close to C and D loops.

Great campground that we have loved for over 15 years. Visit marred by drunk man looking to "whip somebody's ass (mine). Man was a part of a LARGE family group that caused problems for the camp hosts and thought they were the only people in the campground. I have never had this type of issue in 16 plus years of camping and hope that Rangers will be aware of this group and their attitude and TAKE ACTION before problem becomes worse.

Beautiful, well-maintained campgrounds. I reserved a space but found a first-come, first-served space I liked better in loop E and used that. There is no cell service in the campground (there is 2-3 bars of 3G at the ranger station) or most of the park, so download or print trail maps before you arrive. Park literature on trails is limited. Bring your hiking poles; the trails are rocky, and steep in places. The Indian Rockhouse and trail is amazing. I’m 60 and out of shape. It took me 3.25 hours with several short rest stops, but was worth the effort. Don’t miss the Ponca area trails on the west end of the park, or the old mining camp at Tyler Bend on Panther Creek. The Buffalo Point Overlook trail from the upper parking lot was relatively easy with a beautiful place for a picnic lunch. The spring woodland wildflowers were stunning. I did not do anything on the river, so 4-5 days was enough to see the area.

We had a good time. We hiked the Indian Rockhouse Trail and we walked along the Buffalo River skipping rocks and taking pictures of the bluff. Some of us played in the sand and rode bikes. The campsites were a little close, but not bad. There were lots of dogs on leash and not an issue, but some the owners didn't pick up poop afterwards so we had to watch where we stepped, but otherwise we had a great, relaxing time.
