We had such a wonderful week camping and floating the Buffalo River. The campground is one of our families favorite places to stay. Our site was mostly shaded and not too far from the bathrooms and showers. We will always come back to Buffalo Point.

This was our fourteenth year. We love the Buffalo River.

Campground was fine, but the urinal in section C did not flush. There were several trees across the trail on the way to Indian Rockhouse. Many have bypassed the trail getting around these downed trees, creating a bigger problem of erosion in the long run along the trail. The parks workers need to get in there with chain saws and fix the problem before it gets worse.

This was our first time camping in Arkansas-so we were not sure what we would find. Five nights at Petit Jean, five nights at Buffalo Point and 2 nights at Beaver Dam Site. Our experience at all three places was excellent in every way. That said, Buffalo Point was "the place" for us. The facilities and the natural beauty were great. And kudos to the excellent staff at the Ranger Station! Mary and (the younger) Erica were first class. We were at site #47 and my wife's parents were at #48-perfect for us. My wife and I hiked the Indian Rockhouse and Rush Creek trails-and the Campground Trail with the in-laws. The CGT was almost too much for my in-laws but they were so pleased to be able to do it. "Rockhouse" gets an A+. We had our inflatable kayak along and my wife and I kayaked from the put in place about 6 miles upstream, Spring Creak, back to our campsite. The Buffalo was sooo low which made the journey very difficult but the beauty of the river and the bluffs and all were "all world"...simply spectacular!

Great campground! It is well maintained and kept up. The area is beautiful and the river is a great place to fish. I'll be back.

We love Buffalo Point. We took our kids in a pop-up camper for years. Now that they are grown and out of the house, we have a trailer we take for just us two. The sites are clean, people friendly and water/scenery are beautiful. The water was lower than we have ever seen it. Earlier this year we went when the water was too high. Its great to float when the water is right but nice to visit even when it isnt.

It was somewhat frustrating when i tried to add an additional day to my reservation. Even more frustrating when I arrived to discover that all the sites identified as First Come First Served were group reserved by a church group that had circumvented the reservation system.

If hiking Indian Rockhouse Trail, drive vehicle up hill at start at trailhead on road (there is parking there). Don’t try to hike from campground.
