Nice site. The RV length restriction listed was not entirely accurate. We easily put a 32 ft in the space and it could have been a little longer. However- It required a LOT of leveling and may require parking your vehicle several yards away in the public Bathroom parking area. Shady!

A very unusual national park service campground as it offers showers, likely a carryover from its state park heritage.

Chris from north Louisiana. Family of 5. Tent camping. June 2-5 2023.
Buffalo point is 5 hours from my home and the drive is not bad, now that most of the road work on the way up is complete. The drive time makes arrival for check in easy. The campsite is easy to find with clear signage, which is needed because there is no cell signal. The campsite was well maintained, and the shower/ bathroom facility was clean, stocked and had hot water. There is a clear, paved path to the river.
Buffalo Point, IMO, is set up for RV camping. We don't have an RV and tent camped. I would suggest Tyler bend for tent camping as the sites are bigger with more flat area to set up tents. Tyler bend also has a big central field for games and space for kids to play. We also had 3 bars of cell signal at Tyler bend.

April was a perfect time to enjoy the river (redbuds, peace and quiet). The campground was a perfect place to relax post floating. Thanks for maintaining a perfect spot to camp!

We were at the campground at the end of March. Amazing location fir hiking, lots of trees, beautiful streams along the way.
Don’t miss the Indian Rock House Trail where you’ll find a stunning cave that record human occupation for hundreds of years. Warning though, we encountered some senior citizens on the trail who were getting exhausted : there is significant elevation changes on that trail and it demands a sustained physical effort. Trail would also need better signage: sometimes, we were not sure exactly were to go and what the official trail was, since multiple trails were being visible.
On the campground, toilets were functional, but not the showers, due to COVID. The hand dryer was not working. The showers were looking old, rusty and dirty, definitely due for a renovation.
Overall excellent experience.
