We made a reservation for a walk-in site, but since it was midweek, we were able to move to site 5 in first-come, first- served Loop A. This area is much prettier and the sites are terraced so you feel a little more privacy. None of the sites are very far from the bathrooms. We did find a couple of ticks, so be sure & watch for them. The sites on the opposite side of Loop A overlook the river, so would be very nice but they were mostly full even on a Wednesday. We opted for the less crowded area. Even that area filled up by the weekend, but there wasnt a lot of noise after 8:00 or 9:00 pm on Friday night.Since this is a dark sky park, I was surprised that people had bright lights on all night, but I didnt notice them from my tent. Just when I got up during the night. We really liked the campground & would definitely return. The bathrooms could be a little bigger, and they are not heated or even insulated from the cold, but there are showers which are hard to find in Arkansas campgrounds! This is a beautiful area and there are many great hiking trails along the Buffalo River. The Indian rock house trail is right by the information center and a very nice hike.

Absolutely loved staying here! For 2 girls in our late 20s from Texas, we were a little nervous. We felt incredibly safe here though!

Campsites are always very clean and affordable (I know this is region dependent) but the ground is always very good texture to steak tents (always makes my tent camping experience more enjoyable).Absolutely gorgeous, many river access trails by the tent camping area. I only wish there was an outlet for charging devices by the campsite. Otherwise love this place and highly recommend it.

It was very nice to be a few yards away from the restrooms and showers. Clean, well-kept tent only campground. We were able to hike down to the river and start our hike on the Indian Rockhouse Trail right from our campsite. A shame we had to leave a day early because of Tornado warnings, but that's just the time of year we picked.

We camped on at non electric/non water, but reserved site, it was a walk in site, but parking was near by for us. It was perfect for us to tent camp. There was restrooms & water very close by. We had a great table, on top of a concrete slab, a hook for our lantern, & a grill over the campfire ring. The showers & restrooms were very clean. The park rangers were very helpful. The beach access area we used was very nice! The park was very clean & quiet! We enjoyed the hiking trail in the park too! We will definitely be back! Thanks from Texas campers!

Not sure what the fuss was about the bathrooms - they were really clean and nice! Beautiful campsite. I liked A since it was on the edge and furthest from the RV area. Pretty open, but right above the river and nice view of the stars. We loved this park, but drove to hike.

Mobile Data Speed Map
#123
If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
