We stayed one night. Loved seeing the synchronized fireflies.

The Mt. Pisgah area is a great place to stay. There are so many places to discover including Mt. Pisgah itself. We are slowing down as we reach our 70's and 80's, but we still managed to walk the Daniel Ridge Loop and see the waterfall on a previous trip, and this trip we walked down the Little Bald trail, across the connector, and up the Laurel Mtn. trail to the Buck Springs parking lot where we left our car. DO NOT use the campground map from either the Blue Ridge Parkway or Recreation.gov. The position of the campsites is misleading. D24 is very close to D25 without any vegetation between them. Conversations from D25 can easily be heard in D24. Rainwater coming across the road into D25's parking area drains on D24 by way of a pipe. Pictures of the campsites don't show how close they are to other campsites and the maps are useless for that purpose. D24 does have a level tent site and a mostly-level table with a nice fire ring. The camp store has approved firewood and we had a nice fire each night. It's mostly quiet except for the aforementioned D25 and some loud banging from D18 down the road.In the past 30 years, we have enjoyed walking/hiking in many areas including the Middle Prong Wilderness, Shining Rock Wilderness, many trails near Sam Knob, many trails in the Graveyard Fields area, and various parts of the MTS trail system in addition to climbing Mt. Pisgah and Looking Glass Rock. We have enjoyed picking blueberries camping in Shining Rock, in the Mt. Pisgah campground, and on Cold Mountain (in a thunderstorm!), and staying in the PIsgah Inn on our anniversaries. We recommend all of those places, and we are sure you can find many others without going very far from the campground.

Though foggy and rainy the morning we left, we really enjoyed the camp site and the entire camp area. We'll definitely come back.
