This campsite was decent. It was surrounded on all sides by trees except for a clearing for access to the next site. We have an 8 person tent with a screen porch. The porch didn't fit on the tent pad. Not a big deal but it's good to know. But there were a couple issues.1. This site shares a parking space with the site 17. The parking space is right in front of site 17 and you have to basically walk past that site to get to this one, like right past their tent. Site 18 is essentially a walk in site. The parking isn't much of an issue for site 18 but I wouldn't want to be in site 17. Your car is parked right by Site 17's tent pad.2. The bathroom is absolutely disgusting. The shower houses are on the other side of the Blue Ridge Parkway. And they are very clean. Day use people use this loop as a picnic area. It was so full of people. We even watched a guy park his pick up truck right in the middle of a campsite instead of using the clearly marked parking spot. The loops on the other side of the road were near empty. Hiking trails go through both but everyone was congregating in this loop. I'm guessing these bathrooms were trashed due to the day use people. The other loops were much more quiet and had clean bathrooms. I wouldn't stay at this site again. It would be nice if they restricted campground access to campers only like the other campgrounds along the parkway.

The inconsiderate people in the site beside us partied loudly until 4:00 AM then one of them chopped and sawed and broke wood to keep a fire going until sunrise.

We were camping at Loop A. The main attraction of Loop A is its proximity to Julian Price Lake. The lake was 80% empty due to a problem with the dam. One of the two toilets is the Men's bathroom was out of service and the Loop A bathroom has no showers. Considering all this, it would have been better to make a reservation in one of the loops closer to the bathrooms with showers. The park rangers were, as usual, very professional, courteous, accommodating and helpful. All in all, it was a good outdoor experience that could have been more comfortable with our tent in a different location.

Beautiful area. Rained but hey, your camping. I love the showers. Couldn't get over HOT WATER. good hiking around lake. Also kayaking was great. Beautiful lake. And blowing rock is 5 minutes away if you need to stock up on anything.

The site was great, the campground very clean, and the fishing was great! The only reason I don’t give it 5 stars was because we had annoying neighbors. Easy check in, plenty of parking space, not a ton of easy water access from the campsites for fishing, but a short walk and you could find yourself self at the dam or the boat rental area where you can purchase fire wood. The lake gets extremely busy by mid afternoon, but I expected that on the parkway. You can hear the cars driving by all day, but very quiet at night.
