Last time we got a site on the lake it was really phenomenal. Only complaint would be the bathrooms in the A loop are kind of worn down, and a mess.

I went to take dark sky pictures of stars across the lake. It was good but there has been a large increase in light pollution in the last 20 years. Day trips to Linville Falls and along the parkway were great as always.

Absolutely stunning views of the lake. It was such a treat to stay there.

We camped in spot A10 on the A loop. While this spot is absolutely gorgeous, and the only site that has walkable access to the lake, the campsite itself sits at almost a 40 degree angle. The picnic table and campfire both are at a severe angle. Close to the bath house and trail heads, as well as the boat rental hut. Camper beware, the view is unbeatable but as far as sites go, it’s pretty awful.
