We spent 9 nights at the campground including one weekend. The generator-free loop was quiet (except for the coyotes!) even on the busy weekend. We were happy with our site although the picnic table was sinking badly / on such a slant that it was hard to use for cooking - we chose to cook all meals at the Price Picnic area instead and that was quite pleasant. Late October meant the campground diswashing stations were closed for the season which was a surprise but not a problem. The lovely hot showers in Loop D were well maintained and truly a camping luxury. We visited and hiked numerous loops starting south at Linville, Grandfather Mt, Price Lake, Boone Fork Loop, Green Knob, Moses Cone and more. We did multiple trails per day and visited several twice during the stay as all loops were rather short. Early morning start times gave us a solid 1/2 day of trail solitude but they could get quite busy by the afternoons. We spent a rain day in Blowing Rock and enjoyed the town and ponds and history and art. We went to Boone but failed to connect with any activities. Overall 4 stars for this visit and with some infrastructure TLC 5. Bring your kayak!

Visited and hiked the Julian Price area since I was a toddler as my family had a cabin in Blowing Rock when I was young. First time camping here and we really enjoyed it. The staff is great and the newer showers are awesome. The setting in the woods is spectacular. We would definitely come back!
