Arrived late (midnight) Thursday night to find a car parked in my reserved lake spot. Fortunately, there were people at the registration office (probably usually not there at such a late hour?). After unsuccessfully trying to locate the owner of the car (there was a camper parked next to the car, but no one in it), the person helping me gave me an even better site by the lake. It had a beautiful view and better trees for my hammock set up! Site A19 is highly recommended if you can get it. I had planned to move to another site the next day (lake side sites were only available for Thursday night). My Friday night site was perfect for hammocks also. Site B22. A shallow stream appeared by the parking space during a rainstorm, but it was not a problem hopping over it. It disappeared quickly after the rain. The bathrooms were close and very clean and the showers (I drove to those) were clean as well. On Friday morning a group of volunteers went around cleaning up, trimming weeds and even cleaning the number signs on the posts! Everyone I met was very friendly and helpful.

We stayed at A9 and A10. Each site only has 1 parking space. A10 did not have a tent pad. The sites were cleaned but were in great need of grading and repair. The picnic tables were falling apart. The bathrooms were clean but also falling apart. This is a great campground and lake in need of maintenance and refurbishment.

The only thing good about this campground is the location. Paths in horrible condition so can't be used by those with walking challenges; lighting along pathways and in restrooms do not work; most sites unlevel even for tents; bathrooms so dirty and old they cannot be used; stayed in loop A and had to go to loop D for shower, while not bad, they are already showing their wear as they are the only showers for the entire site. We will not stay there again. It is a shame National Park Service has not kept up this camp. It is an embarrassment for visitors from out of the country.

Stayed in loop A with a group. Had 3 spacious sites. Most A sites have only 1 parking spot, so confirm what you need. Lovely trees at tent sites. the early morning deer didnt care that I was 4 from them as they grazed among the sites. Bathrooms were sufficient. The boys side, I was told, was pretty stinky. Easy walking distance from all sites in the loop. The shower house is clean. (Not in loop A) large rooms with shower, seat, sink, warm water (not adjustable). A Family could easily use one room together if needed-and shower w/privacy. Large sink/counter to clean dishes on side of shower bldg. the trail around the lake goes through loop A. kayaks looked like fun to rent. Wi-if at the guard house but not at our site. Firewood at kayak rental was $7 a bundle.

We had a great weekend at Julian Price Park Campground. The staff was helpful and friendly. Unfortunately boat rentals were closed due to some repairs on the dam and we always look forward to renting kayaks when at this park. ( The weekend would have been PERFECT if some inconsiderate person hadn't decided to fly a drone up and down the length of the lakeside campground at 6:40AM! )
