This campsite was a huge disappointment. Theres a reason they dont have a photo of it on the listing. The campground itself was clean and overall great, but this specific campsite was on a large slope with hardly any even ground. The only spot to put your tent was in the parking spot. There is a flat portion at the top, but that is because its part of a trail thats basically connected to the campsite. Additionally, the parking spot had no gravel so it was straight mud. Also, the fire ring is unusually close to the concrete bench, so if you have your own chairs to put up, you can really only put them on one side of the fire ring (still on a slope too). We had three nights booked at this site and ended up leaving early after the second.

Two comments first, there was a huge plastic garbage bin staged about 20 feet from our campsites picnic table. Flies were disgusting and everywhere. Not sure why management would think that these bins need to be within the bounds of the campsite. Gross. Recommend moving all trash containers to the ends of the loops or beside the bathrooms. Second are there any improvements that can be made to South Beach? It literally looks the same as it did when I used to camp with my parents in the 80s. Expand the beach? More benches? A hand washing station at the bathroom? Showers? Most importantly-can someone dredge all that nasty algae and moss by the shore and drag it away a couple times during the summer? Such a beautiful beach with so much potential; however, no improvements???

Beware that just because it says your rig will fit, it may be an awkward site that is either VERY unlevel or crazy difficult to get the rig into a position where you can reasonably level it without two feet of blocking!!!!

Make sure that you get a photo of your spot, so you know if it is level enough for a 5th wheel trail to come off it’s hitch. Plan on a little bit long site for trailer and vehicle to fit. Over all the camper ground is a beautiful place to stay and the people were awesome.
