I don't think there is a bad site in all of the Woods Loop, but we absolutely LOVED #65 and 66 during our stay. Lakefront and **beautiful views**!!! The campground bathrooms and water sources are in numbers and locations convenient to all sites. 15-20 minute drive to Crazy Horse, Mt Rushmore, Custer State Park, and don't miss the public fishing side of Horsethief Lake Campground for a relaxing couple of hours. There are NO showers in this campground at all, but CINDY at the check-in station was SO very helpful in referring us to Three Forks Campground nearby, where for $5 they will let you shower even though you didn't stay there. Same solution for the lack of a dump station -- $10 to dump at 3Forks on your way out of town.

What a great National Campground!

The spots that overlook the lake are beautiful. I rated as fair because they are the only campround I’ve ever stayed in that charges a $2 per night pet fee. This was not made clear when registering. Spot #65’s table and pit are on the opposite side of the camper door- it was awkward. The bathroom had so many flies in it it was unusable. There is also zero cell coverage with ATT. Very disappointing given how beautiful the area is. If none of the above apply I would recommend.

An overall good experience from one of the sites that have a good view of Sheridan Lake.
The reason for only a 4 star review; site 65 seems to be a unique location next to or as an additional site squeezed into the space between already existing sites in order to obtain another camping site. Number 65 is KOA close to site 66. Additionally, it's very difficult to back into. I've a 24' camper and wouldn't want to try with a much longer camper.
I'd recommend this campground, but avoid site number 65.

The camp hosts were very nice and helpful. The site was right on the lake and had a fabulous view. There was a decent amount of space between us and our neighbors even though there wasn't really any trees for privacy. It didn't matter. Bathrooms were pretty clean for such a busy weekend. Loved swimming in the lake just off the rocks down the hill from where we were camping. Not a fan of the beach, though. Mucky.
