Great spot between both east and west entrance. Great mountain view and hosts! A little road and train noises. Would stay again if in the area.

I had an enjoyable time. It's situated far enough away very peaceful evenings and nights , but close enough to get to all the sites and activities in the Black Hills.

Very well maintained campground. Camp host was informative, helpful, and a pleasure to talk too.

Its a beautiful location, the campsites are nice sized and just far enough apart. However; it would be nice to have an electrical hook-up or water hook-up.

Really beautiful campground. Sites are spread apart enough as well. I went on the lake loop hike and it was amazing

We enjoyed a thoroughly peaceful and relaxing stay. The campground's limited cell service (east river Verizon) made it an ideal setting for a digital detox. The trails were perfect for foraging and exploring the beauty of nature. I highly recommend the campground to those looking to reconnect with nature.

We loved staying at Dutchman! The sites are well-spaced, and the area is beautiful. We have three boys, and they have plenty of room to run around. We also got to see some deer go by a little way from our site, and had some very entertaining squirrels. Our camp host was also very kind. It was a short drive down to Deerfield Lake, and the lake is fantastic. The boys enjoyed fishing and skipping rocks. Our only hiccup was that the water available was gross and looked like apple cider vinegar in our water jugs.

Great quiet campground. Vault toilets were kept clean, host was attentive.

The only thing that would have made this place any better would have been a spigot that a hose could attach to would be great. Other than that, it was great. Great scenery, great sight and great campground hosts.

Camp host was wonderful and made our camp stay a great experience. The campground was well maintained and the toilets clean. The only reason we didn't give it a five star rating is the water supply this year remains pretty brown and sedimentary, and we weren't comfortable drinking it. In previous years at this campground the water supply was clear and quite acceptable. Not sure what this issue is at this time.

It was clean and beautiful! Loved the camp host she was very helpful, friendly and kind! Want to come back!

We loved our stay! The site was perfect. Everything was clean, and our site (11) had just the right amount of shade and sun. Our camp host was wonderful, I wish I remembered her name to give her proper credit! The lake was a short walk away, which was nice. Having a closer bathroom would have been a bonus, as site 11 is in the middle of the 2 on that side of the campground, and it takes about 5 minutes walking to get to either one. But that wasn't as big of a deal.Overall, we loved our stay here, and will be back next year!

Nice and quiet place to stay, only thing is that lake is not walking distance.

Pleasant, helpful camp host. Clean vault toilets. Very nice camp ground, and we've stayed here many times. Only complaint this time was the drinking water quality. It was very brown with sediment this time, and not very pleasant to use for drinking. First time we'd this issue at this campground. Hope it gets resolved.

We live in the area and Dutchman is by far our favorite campground. We try to book a campsite there at least once a year. We're tent campers and there's plenty of flat space for tents. It's beautiful, clean, quieter, the lake is no-wake, and the host is always so kind. Us being paddleboarding folk, we love the no-wake requirement. Highly recommend Dutchman!!!

Large Pine tree near our camp spot (#28) was hit by a lightning strike during a storm. We were asked to move for safety reasons to any free 'first come, first serve' (walk up) site. Thought we should have received some $$ back since we had reserved the first site and the walk up site was less desirable. Hostess was very gracious. Could use a policy on these types of situations in the future. Lot of work to move.

Camp host was great. Nice large campsites. Farther walk down to the lake than I expected. Bathrooms were nice and clean for pits!

The campground is always well kept, from the sites to the restroom facilities. We always look forward to camping here! The only downside is the proliferation of generators which really take away from the peaceful surroundings. Sure wish they would reduce the generator hours to one could enjoy the peaceful sunsets and sunrises. We've taken to visiting in the off-season instead of summer because the drone takes a lot away from the experience.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
