we had a great stay at Comanche Park Campground. We Actually came back and stayed 12 days more at a first come first serve site. The host was professional, courteous, available and a bit fun. He takes pride in the campground and worked hard to make a camping experience at Comanche the best he could. The campground was clean and well cared for. lots of privacy due to the layout. And a bonus for us, not very crowded.Logistics of this campground was perfect for us. Relatively close to Custer and many trails within walking distance from campground.Downside was no network, and that was actually good for us Once we got used to it.Thank you Eric For the wonderful stay.

If you like quiet and to be away from crowded campgrounds, this is the place to go. We love the quiet here plus the distance from populated areas. There is plenty of space between sites.

Some sites are flat, but most have a slight slope. Many good sites for tents and short rv's. Longer trailers and motorhomes might have trouble fitting into many sites. Water is available and pit toilets. Cell phone coverage is nil for all carriers.

Our campground host, Kim, is friendly and helpful and keeps the campground clean.

Great campground! It was quiet and clean and the back sites felt like there was plenty of room between them. Convenient location to Custer and all the sites. We’ll definitely be going back

Quiet, clean, well maintained. About the only thing that would improve it would be an access path to some of the local walks.

Something about the vault toilets isn't working. The chemical agent that either is being used as general surface cleaning or has been added to the waste vault results in a really nasty strong, gag-inducing, odor being given off. I'm thinking that chemicals shouldn't be going into the waste vault in the first place in order for the system to work properly? I've been to other vault toilets in the national forest & haven't encountered this issue.

That being said, Commanche Park is a beautiful campground, the camp hosts have always been great, and I have camped there multiple times.
